I to still remember the day we got our first conti i has 5 then it was 2nd one and it was converted to diesel it all around 1991

Hey manikjeet,
where did you get that Hindustan logo? searching for it desperately.

Also, i know full body color change is not allowed, but what abt at few places. is it not allowed?
i am getting my car roof and dickey painted this weekend. My car is maroon color and opting for either black or cream. going for MRF paint and getting done by my friend.

Hi Sud,
Didn’t know you were looking for it desperately. I tried to call you and your phone says "temporarily disconnected". Call me and I will get a new set made for you.
Wonder why MRF?. Also painting your roof "Black" without proper insulation means inviting trouble.

Congrats MJ. I always love to see a well maintained Contessa. I have to say that you are taking good care of Minni!
Please do remove those fog lamps. You dont need them and see if u can get the single barrel headlights..they somehow are more appealing to me.

really ?? i thought you can change the colour if you got it endorsed on the r/c.

Even Jayalalitha owned one which met with an accident with a truck on the outskirts of Chennai. The car was damaged but the lady was safe and escaped with minor injuries.
Rashtrapati Bhawan till the late 1990's had many black Contessas in the Presidential fleet.

I have a black 1995 Contessa which was originally regitered in Delhi. I wonder if it was on of those presidential fleet cars. Were the cars used by the government uactioned away or sold regularly?

i doubt they would be sold at all as they were in all probability bulletproof cars. they were surely scrapped

The bullet proof cars might have been scraped but the others used to get auctioned every few years. This used to happen till a few years ago. As of today the Delhi Govt seems to have scrapped all the conti's that they had.

Noticed that you have 15' rims (from a xylo) on your car in the last few pictures. It would be great if you share with us how to get these rims to fit on the conti hub.

1. Do the rims have the same offset as the conti. they seem to be sitting more inside the fenders than the normal conti rims

2. what modifications were made on the rim or the hub?

3. how is the high speed feel - any vibrations or wobbling with the new rims and wheels?

4. Any rubbing with the fenders when you turn lock to lock?

How about adding some chrome rings on those wheels. will surely make them stand out.

My friend also said so and the Conti part was the one which made me go see the film. But unfortunately it was not a Conti,read somewhere that it was the last gen of RWD Lancer.
Also dead give away was the LHD steering wheel.

Guys, there was this very well done up Contessa lying in our society for few years, and lately in a drive to clean up the society of these of unwanted vehicles

amongst many, this Contessa was also taken away by the cops, one other worth noting was a Tata Indigo with alloys and all lcd n stuff at all seats (this vehicle had become a play house for kids)

but it is the contessa I am really sad about, I was actually eying it and was planning to trace the owner, but even before, it was lifted

this, despite I well knew that this clean-up drive was about to happen, but I did not know that this contessa was abandoned
