Here's mine...

Congrats bro on your purchase!

I think my EX 4x4 is the first one in 2009 on team-BHP ....in fact manufactured in 2009. My vehicle has the T-shaped spare wheel cover. Also, it sports all the proper logos - the Safari Ex, the 4x4, and the rest...

You should definitely get back to the showroom guys and ask for an explanation.....

Here's my beast...

Yes, brother - these pictures were taken just after the vehicle had landed at the dealer's yard. I had gone there to ensure that the vehicle was indeed a 2009 manufactured piece (checking the VIN number). You can see a lot other Tata vehicles in the background. That's their yard.

You wanna see photographs after I took delivery...I have some 'not very good ones'. The night-hawk OHC Vtec and the Sierra standing alongside are also mine...!

Now, something is not right here. Please call up regional Tatamotors customer care if the dealer is not able to give you an explanation. None of the above should be missing.......

Congratulations.

Pay a visit to the showroom to see the display models. Check with the dealer to see if these things have changed or not, check with another one, if possible.

Nothing shouldve changed.

Waiting for RTO clearance

Thanks guys for the encouragement and advice. I will take the truck back to the dealer tomorrow.

1. 4WD selector is there and one of my colleague went under the truck and verified additional differential for FWD. Also the TML tag pasted on rear window with barcode marks the product as "Safari 4x4 VX 2.2 DICOR 7 STR BS-III". Can we trust that too?

2. Dealer said they have placed the order for 4x4 decal w/ TML and will inform me as soon as they get it.

3. They would also fix the rear "Safari VX" logo on the bumper tomorrow

4. How do you guys protect the "Safari" spare wheel cover from prying eyes? I heard it has a good demand (even with t-bhpians too ) and hit with thieves?

Another couple of things (see pic below) if you guys can advice upon:

a) Noticed a "wide" plastic cover on the right (driver side) front wiper arm. Not present on other wipers. What is this?

b)There is a "NO ORDER" written in red sticker on front wind shield ?

tia,
-BJ

The wiper thing is for redirecting the water splash away from the wind shield while the wiper does its job at speeds.

EDIT: In BOLD

Hey - Great looking Safari. Looks lovely in black. But you will need to put in a lot of time to keep the beast looking good. BTW - when you took delivery did you see if the other Safari's in the dealership also came with the older spare wheel cover design or was it just yours?

Also the new Safari ad shows a safari with a two tone paint job. Wonder if that is on the cards for 2009!

Congrats bj96. I always liked the Safari in Black but that color would need some pampering from the owner
Drive safe and have fun. As the ad says " Reclaim your life"
