Had a good time meeting StarVegabond over breakfast.
Hey netarchie

good to know that you are safely back to navi mumbai.

it was great to meet you, thanks for sparing some time.
we really enjoyed the demo of your HONDAPUTER

The real thing is much much more exciting than the
photographs and details in this thread.

After seeing the demo my daughter now wants me to put such a system in
my car so that she can play all her games in the car

If you feel car is too bouncy at the back, first thing to do is check the air pressure. What tires are they running on?
The car is running the stock bridgestone tires. Air is nitrogen and according to what is mentioned in the manual !

I read in a different thread that Honda has suggested using synthetic oil on all it's cars including the City. Not sure if the interval between changes will still be 5000 km. I think the oil itself costs about Rs 2200/- per change.

I heard that the customer can continue to opt for mineral oil if he wishes to. Can anyone confirm if this is indeed optional?

What they told me is that Honda recomends sythetic oil. And it will be changed for every 5000kms.
@netarchie, did they insist on sythetic oil for you car too? What was the reaction when you chose to go for the normal oil?

In my case it was the other way round ! I was the one who asked them to change to synt oil instead of normal. They agreed and warned me that I would have to change the oil every 5K kms, if not it would void warranty !

I decided against it and continued with the normal one. Synt oil costs almost 4 times normal oil !

One of the major benefits with synt oil is to have longer oil changing interval , but changing it every 5K kms defeats that purpose IMO.

any noticeable difference with synt oil ?

Hmm.

Brake cleaning? Don't let them do that again. Same with windscreen cleaner.

"Key comes out in any position"? You mean the key comes out even if your car is in D? And they checked the fuses for this?!? Check the contacts in the shifter. There is also a relay in there somewhere which en/disengages the lock in the key barrel.

Yes the key comes out in D as well, This was while when I was getting my carpc done.
I had the fuse replaced (ACC) and the issue was resolved , noticed it again after I had given my car for cleaning, thats when I told to check the fuses which they reported to be ok. I will check with the things you have mentioned.

So what is the idea of Honda recommending synth oil, but also insisting on the usual 5k km interval?

Guna, were you given an option? The Honda customer care lady too tells me that the customer can opt for mineral oil.

Hi netarchie, checked this one in mine. This one comes only with AT cars and not with MT. If i am wrong correct me please. Have you fitted those wooden panels in your doors and dashboard? How much did they cost you?

I am not sure if it comes only in At cars.
I have fitted those panels only on the doors, they are not wooden though.

--------------
Had been to a quick weekend getaway trip to goa, had a blast on the NH17.
I Could reach Panjim in a single tank but on the way back had to fill halfway as I found the ghats almost trafficless and took advantage of the situation
came back minus the left rear view mirror .
It was a silly accident, there was this herd of cows enjoying their walk on higway, and we got too close to them for their comfort, next thing we know , one of them just brushed the horn against the car and off came the mirror. Luckily there was no damage to the body of the car.
(the cow was fine)

Damage is about 5500 for the new one and waiting period is about 3 - 4 days. Should be fixed in a couple of days.
