All FIATs have longer clutch play. You guys will get used to it. At least the clutch is not heavy as in case of Palio.

Same in case of Palio, one will get used to the clutch and not feel its heavy at all. Everything is in relative terms.
The difference is felt only if you constantly hop cars Eg. Drive a Santro and then Drive a Palio you'll feel the relative difference in clutch, and after 10 minutes of driving Palio again, the "heavy feeling" is gone

Congratulations Luky. Great FE in the city which I am sure will improve as you get used to the car and after first service.

Clutch - All Fiat cars have a long travel for the clutch. The clutch on the Palio is pretty hard and needs getting used to. Linea is much better. However I just love the feel of the clutch in my Palio which provides a great feedback. A bit of the pain if the traffic's heavy though.

Diesel noise - Yes there would be a bit of diesel noise, but that would be mainly at the first start when the diesel has to settle in.
You won't hear it when you roll up your windows.

Fiat cars are extremely driver centric and you will understand why we Palio owners enjoy our steeds. The car kind of grows on you unlike other cars which are efficient, reliable but no fun to drive (exception Swift/Fiesta). (My wife is the latest convert and she swears by the Palio now )

Luky,

Congrats dude. Lovely car.

People: Is it just my imagination, or am I seeing way too few Lineas on the road?Despite so many Lineas being delivered, I've probably seen 3 or so on Bangalore roads and 1 in Chennai in the last 3 weeks! Linea owners, do a show of strength and organize a parade or something!

Congrats. She looks lovely. Love the lines of the Linea, classy, elegant yet understated. Not over the top like most cars these days. Take good care of her.

Quite true Linea is a timeless classic when it comes to looks, subtle but defined and bold. Whether its a classic in terms of performance and customer service only time will tell.

How is the clutch usage. It's very light but the ply is very long.

Fiat's clutch play is longer and deeper then other cars. It's just a matter of getting used to the longer clutch play.
