Hey hdi,

I dont rev. the engine ( keep it under 2000rpm ) in gears 1st to 4th, its only in the 5th gear that I let the engine do the talking.

My daily travel includes 60% city ( outer ring road ) and 40% delhi-gurgaon expressway, with windows rolled up always.

Cheers.

And the good part? exisiting vista owners can also probably get these parts retrofitted to their cars as well!
Am in a dilemma.
Is this sarcasm or actually a praise for tata?
Can anyone shed more light on this entry level model for Quadrajet?

WOW!!!! Red looks amazing, I love the Gala red color. I feel like kicking myself now, since I bought the Vista Quadrajet Aqua Artic Silver. My dad was keen to have a look at the red, but then the Concorde dealer on Mysore road, Bangalore did not have the red either on display or in their service station for us to have a look. We were in hurry and booked the Silver. Now I feel I shd have gone for the Red.

Congrats! on the purchase. Man, you have got a fantastic deal. 5 Lacs for Aura. Bangalore is damn costly. Aqua sticker price is 5.22 lacs, but then I got 8k as Corporate discount and then I bargained for Lumar sun films and basic mats, mud flaps, ambi pure, idol. I did not take the extended warranty. Effective On road price came upto 5.09 lacs for Aqua.

Hey, Did you find the steering hard?

Cheers

Hi anandkumargb,

You seem to have bargained well(freebies). However for me the cost was reduced as I did the insurance and Registration(without any bribes) by myself.

I find the steering a bit vague. It is hard when making sharp turns and it seems very vague(loose)when going fast.

How much mileage are you getting with your Quadra.

Thanks
Hari.

Oh ya Freebies... Prerna was giving me me all the freebies first, but then I did not want to buy my car from Prerna since I had read a lot of negative stuff abt them. Concorde was not initially ready to give me any freebies. Then I called them up and told them that if they do not match, then I will buy from prerna. They finally caved in

Mileage - Yet to check. The full tank fuel is still not empty.

Drive on

My First service

Hi all,

Did my first service in Vivek automobiles.I listed the following issues

a) Clutch is a bit rough
b) engine noise is not smooth
c) scratches

Well ,he noted and did the following,

a)Cleaned/washed the car(shampoo)
b) Cleaned and topped up the different fluids
c) Broke the Bonnet rod(that supports the bonnet. He assured me that he will replace it for free in the next s)
d) Did something with the clutch(seems to be a bit smooth)
e)Engine noise has improved

Well is the dealer required to do wheel balancing and allignment in the first service ???

Did the dealer not charge you any logistic/handling charge. In hyd they are charging around Rs 2500 for the same. Is this a mandatory charge one needs to pay?

Well the dealer told me one fine day that I have to pay the logistics charge(Rs 1500).I told him plainly that I will take the car unless he waives it.He buckled and accepted that.

So "Bargain" with the dealer to cut that off .(or you can say that the other dealers are offering without any logistics charge)

Any special requirment for the 10K service

Hi all,

I am going for my 10K service this week.Got a few questions/clarifications here

a) the Manual states that the fuel filter has to be replaced at 10K.However I checked with the dealer and he is saying that there is no need to replace that and If I want to replace it then it costs Rs 2200(which seems pretty steep ).Anyone has done the fuel filter change as part of their service and is it required? If yes what the was the cost

b) The dealer is also saying that tata motors has sent a circular indicating the only synthetic oil be used for engine oil change at 10K.Dealer is quoting about Rs1100/lr.Any ideas on this

c)what are synthetic and convention oils that are best for Indica vista(as per your experience).manual lists the following oils(Not sure whether they are synthetic or conventional)

Castrol GTX diesel
HPCL Hp Micly No.1 TGO
EXXON Mobil Super 100TM

hdi, i would suggest you not to go for premium diesel, stick to normal ones, and try out IOC regular diesel, gives good FE as well as reduces engine noise as well.

Check properly whether is he quoting the cost of whole service or only the fuel filter. If so it should not cost more then 3-400/-

I'm sure he is taking for a ride. better stay away from the center. show the vehicle to other TASC.

HI hdi_pro
If the manual states some change after a certain interval then I suggest you stick to it. If still in doubt, as suggested by Ramsagar, change the TASC.
