Dear Amit, Linea does not look like Linea at all without the Fiat badge. One suggestion from my side. There are two holes which holds the badge screws, right? Is it possible to weld nuts from inside? This might prevent further loss. Another thought comes to mind is if some one tries to remove it forcefully, it might damage the boot. Please think over this.

My dear friend ..remove that sticker immediately. It is like you are driving a pirated version of FIAt Linea. Its FIAT BAdge or nothing . To be veruy honest , this loooks Cheap !
Also , on what Nehamit mentioned - i have observed tht the badge thieves never harm (not even scratch the area around the badge) . I have seen BMW's in my building in nariman point without badge but the badge has been removed clinicallly. Nothing is spoiled on the boot except for the Badge doing the Vanishing act. They seem to be tained professionally and this is definitely a big Racket and they have this unwritten Rule that no one damages the Boot or so i have observed .

Coming back to VP - Please dont put anything but FIAT badge. The Skoda badge anyway does not add any great charm to the car as the Bold FIAT badge does , so let them use the silly stickers ..not you Amit ! :)

+1 to that!! in case you feel paying 650/- for a badge is too much, do a bulk order of badges from ebay.com. the costs would be in the range of 150/- per badge. further while fixing the badge, ask the TASS to use the windshield sealant beneath the badge. this sealant would make it next to impossible for anyone to take the badge away. Pirated Copy of Linea lol: good one!!

Hey, Guys

I knew this is coming :D. Thats why I put the pics because it looked so funny & so ugly to me, wanted to check you guys' response !!

We Lineans are so sensitive to her looks that we can't see a pimple on her face lol:

Sunil - checked at ebay.com & could not find Linea badges. If you've the link, pls send it to me (would appreciate if you can check on several good links that you've & if found anywhere, pls send it to me, I'll buy badges in bulk)

Also that glass sealant idea is good. Will it affect the body paint?

hi Amit,

The glass sealant idea is my innovation (royalty payable to me). it was executed to perfection in the falling chrome strip problem, as even fevi bond / hitlock adhesives which are rubber based tend to lose their adhesion over a period of time when exposed to extreme heat and excessive rain. whereas the glass sealant holds the glass intact throughout the life of the car! it will not cause any damage to the paint.
here are the ebay links:

Fiat Grande Punto Panda Idea NEW ORIGINAL REAR EMBLEM:eBay Motors (item 310159354263 end time Aug-09-09 09:18:33 PDT)

this is listed at $33. search for similar links. i have seen on ebay the emblems at $ 4.50

This is discussed in the forum before, there is even a thread on the theft of badges. It is going to places in troubling people. i thought it was just Mumbai, but is happening all over the place.
in fact a senior colleague who is not into cars, observed it and said that he has very rarely seen cars with front and rear logo. He started looking at them when the company Logan had both front and back logos missing.
I explained what was the modus and who were the suspects. In his view if its the kids who steal them, then they should be corrected or else they grow up to be criminals.
Coming back to Linea, yes the logo is really tempting, makes me keep one even if all i have to use it as a paper weight.

this aint nothing!
I saw this linea ages back, the owner had taped over all the emblems with black tape ( the car was black too) and put up a BMW logo instead of the FIAT one. My guess is since the Linea looks like its worth a lot , he thought he could pass it off as a beemer. ( the car had a punjab number)

Ages ??

how many months back mate ?

Sunil,

No, Fevi Bond / Hit Lock won't work here, none of the 2 surfaces are rubber. Thats why have to see Glass Sealant.

Regarding Chorm Strips, I disagree. There are rubber beadings inside where this Chrome Strip is to be sticked. Fevi Bond/ Hit Lock has 3dvantages - 1) Its Rubber based, 2) It does not solidify into something which can't be removed & does not leave any plasticky layer, & 3) It is made to stick rubber with some other surface though it sticks non-rubber surfaces also. I keep on checking Chrome Strips fixed with Fevi Bond & they feel rock solid (and remember my car remains out in open 24 hours under all types of weather including Mumbai torrential rains).

Regarding emblem, when I checked sites for emblem, it ws showing exaggerated prices like what you mentioned. I guess, there are offers sometime on sites. ets see else Rs. 625/- is a throw away prices Fiat is selling the emblem. Only problem is how many will I need !!

thanks ashwin but the auction has ended on the site

however, i've 2 small ferrari embossed stickers which I wanna try putting on alongwith some other or that playboy rubber-sticker temporarily

that rubber sticker is imp as there are 2 big holes. do not want water to go inside & spoil the boot-lock assembly

damn, i'm stuck in work pressure do not have time to visit tass, anyways, will re-install fiat emblem after monsoon
