thanks,

They charged around Rs.700 odd for oil change and rest were taxes. Well i sometimes feel the gearshift is not that slick from 2nd to 3rd ( only at times). After service its smoother. Will keep you updated.

They didn't change the oil filter? Isnt it odd that they changed the oil but not the oil filter?

I remember that they mentioned only about engine oil ( 100ml) for Rs.780 including tax. I will do my 3 rd service shortly . I shall put up the invoice next time. Cheers!

Karan,

Why are you getting the services done so quickly? I mean isnt the second service at 5000 kms for ANHC? You got it done so early.

Also, as Amit pointed out, why didnt they change oil filter along with engine oil? Thats a neccesity i think.

Please keep this thread updated bro, only 1 ANHC thread is in life here (starvegabond's), awaiting the 3rd service details.
ANHC and Linea ownership costs are on fire these days

First service is probably 1 month/1000KM, second 3 months/5000KM and third 6 months/10000KM. The first two services are to monitor parts bedding in and to assure that the car has a trouble free long life, as per the warranty/service booklet.

In that case I think it's just top up and hence no change of filters. Do you know what engine oil they use?

So first oil and filter change happens at 10,000kms and then every 5,000kms?

Thanks for that info though i have a doubt. You mean that for every 5000 kms service interval there is a time limit of 3 months?
The company states like "5000 kms or 3 months whichever is earlier", is it true for Anhc?

karan,
100ml oil for 780 rs? Doesnt Honda use mineral oil? 2nd service is labour charge free too, what basis they charged 780?
Do look in the invoice and see if anything else was done.

It's 780 including tax (12.5%?) but seems high. Deducting tax it comes to Rs.680 per 100ml?! Something doesn't fit here. Do look up your invoice Karan. Engine oil can't be that expensive and if it is then they shouldn't be changing it every 5K kms / 3 months.

+1,
Amit,
680 for 100 ml is just not possible in my view. Either there was a misprint for 100 ml instead of 1000 ml or there was an invoicing mistake.

For a quick compara, Selenia synth engine oil costs 610 per litre and its changed at 15000 kms.
if 680 for 100 ml then for 1000ml, it will be = 6800
Impossible. Something wrong somewhere am sure. Even the most expensive oils wont charge such money, serv centre use barrel oils.

Karan,
Awaiting your final call on whats up there? Which dealer did you get the car serviced through?

Rajat, Im not that lucky with service intervals in ANHC . As Immortalz pointed out on the service intervals. My next service is 6 months/10,000 km.

Let me again repeat this, Honda uses Idemetsu mineral oil packaged as Honda and changes it every 5k kms, recently they have introduced synthetic oil which can be changed at 10k intervals. Mostly it will be the same brand, though others can confirm.

Ideally oil filter has to be changed with oil since its the filter that holds most amount of contamination, next is the metal parts which are generally fished out by the drain plug. Am not sure why they just replace the oil alone (if that is the case).

Karan,
I was confused whether its 3month/5000 kms or 6month/5000kms. For the earlier Santro servicing was 10000kms/1year after intial services but with my Xing its been reduced to 5000kms/6month am not able to cover even 5000 in 6 months for it.
Your running is less than Honda estimates

Me also, 100ml for 680 is not possible and neither they topped up 1000ml if it was a mistake. ANHC may take 3-3.5 L of oil in and oil filter change is mandatory with an oil change for all cars.
Yes, they have started synth oils nowadays. My Uncle was also offered the same, he called me to ask and i told him to go for mineral oil as he anyways has to go for a 5000 kms service so not much use.
If service intervals are increased for thos Honda owners who take synth oils, then only it makes sense.

As per the service costs table I have, oil for OHC/NHC/ANHC is 790+tax (charges very state by state). They must have done a full oil change, but they should've changed the fuel filter as well if they did (INR 300 odd).

@coolboy : That is correct. For the Civic, the first oil change is at 6 months/10000KM and it's changed every 10000KM or 6 months, whichever is earlier. I suspect it's the same with the ANHC. However, the first oil change may be earlier. There are preventive maintenance services every 3 months or 5000KM, whichever is earlier. And yes, they offer synthetic oils. I use synth for my Civic and the oil comes to 23xx + taxes.

i think the "100ml" bit was a typo from Karan's side -

Honda still needs a few more years and more CITY buyers to start ripping off at those levels

anyways - after many years of owning a car , i have realised that getting oil changes done at an outside workshop is FAR FAR cheaper !

buying oil directly and the cheap labour cost ( for what is essentially a very low tech affair )
