re: Fiat Linea - 2nd Birthday !!!

could it also be the Mumbai traffic. My average speed is 7 kmph and it takes me about 90-100 minutes to cover a distance of 9-10 kms? Driving is done mostly in 1st and 2nd gear. Another strange thing which I felt was that the best journey rated was a 9 km run between my home to office and not the 2 way run on the e-way wherein I clocked an average of 19 kpl. Is it a bug in the system?

Exactly the same way I felt. I got eco index ranging from 66 to 69 during my drive on 4-laned NH between Bangalore and Chennai, whereas I get scores 70 to 72 in Bangalore bumper-to-bumper traffic!

I would suggest you to go for the upgrade. I got my car yesterday after the AC upgrade and the AC does cool faster. They said that they dont want to open up the dashboard for this process. The earlier fan has been replaced by a huge fan covering the entire radiator. But now I suspect whether the performance of the car has decreased after the upgrade. May be its just a feeling. The fan makes a loud sound but nothing can be heard inside. They also washed the car and has also put some polish making the car brand new. In fact I was unable to distinguish my car from the ones ready for delivery.

re: Fiat Linea - 2nd Birthday !!!

@geeash
I guess my gear changes are shown as bad since the software is for the 1.6 liter, 105 bhp MJD and not for the 1.3 L 90 bhp.

Even my car makes more noise after the replacement. The bigger fan is the culprit here. But since the cooling is better I'm okay.
Also once I close the windows, nothing heard inside.

Me too feel the same for the MJD. I was rated 4.5/5 for Acceleration, Deceleration and speed but 2.5/5 for gears. Was wondering the same since the 1.6MJD is equipped with a 6speed box.

re: Fiat Linea - 2nd Birthday !!!

@h14 & palio 2005, same feeling here. My eco index is just 61 and the problematic area is with the gear shifts.I believe it has to do something with 1.6 MJD settings.

my deceleration is 3.5/5 ,my gearshift is 4.5/5, speed is also 4.5/5 and worst is acceleration which is 3/5

h12 can you give me tips on how to accelerate???

@hemanth and h14

guys you can choose punto as the car on ecodrive and then choose 1.3mjd and 90bhp. it is still working for people that way

Just ensure that your acceleration and deceleration are gradual and that you don't floor the pedal. That is what I do.

Will try to change the car to Punto 1.3 and check it the next time when I get to Coimbatore. Thanks for the info.
