Just a silly question what are these H1 H2 H3 H4 H7 .can we put only H1 and H7 in linea or we can put others toolike H4?
I am not a expert here, but I believe, you will need H1 (low beams) and H7 (High beam) for Linea. Fitting in H4s may not be feasible. For more details on the H (Halaogen series) pl see :

Its actually the other way round, H7 for low beams and H1 for High beams. check out the Osram night breakers for both the H7 and H1. they should be good enough.

Hey Ashwin, I think Bosch has suitable bulbs which can be fitted on to the Linea. I used them on my earlier cars and there was a world of difference.

geeash, Yes I have replaced my original bulbs with Philips 4300K Crystal vision which cost me Rs.2300/- for both sets. Actually thanks to ghostrider, who took the pain to buy it and courier it to me at Trichur. The light is quite bright and I have noticed even heavy vehicle drivers dipping to low beam when I m on High beam. But this is a blue bulb, emitting white light powerful light. You may please clink on the link below to go to my thread where I have also attached pictures of the illumination.

@jaisha

thanks for the reply mate,

how is the throw in low beam when compared to stock bulb?.

Since you said it emits white light do you have problems of visibility during rains and fogs?

does this emit the pure blinding white light or the yellowish white light?

Update!!

searched everywhere in chennai for phillips xtreme power bulbs

There are no H1 type of philips xtreme power bulb available in chennai including GP road. H4, H7 are readily available

Bnz Jon has enquired in Reliance automart in bombay and seems thay have H1 type in philips xtreme power though their website says there are no make of H1 in xtreme power bulbs. So i have asked him to enquire more

Osram night breaker and philips crystal vision are available readily

Osram nightbreaker a pair of H1 and H7 bulbs costs 2.6k which is bargainable.

If H1 in philips is not available i am thinking of mix and match . Think will go for philips xtreme power H7 and osram nightbreaker H1.

BNZ update me !!

Aswin,
I don't think Philips xtreme power has H1 in production.
I have seen in their Website.
Check this url.
Philips Lighting India - X-tremePower
Osram NightBreaker is good as per my friends and relatives.
But i don't have personal idea.
I usually fit Rally 100/90 with roots relay in all my Ex-cars.
It's very powerful but not legalized though i used it because i did alot of Night Highway travel.
But the life is too short. For me,it served almost 1.5 years only.
Bulb and relay costed me some 1500Rs.
I'll check with my contacts for Xtreme and Nightbreaker today and let you know.

i dont want to fit a relay as it seems doing that will void warranty!!.
so i want to go for 65/55w only.

since osram and philips are 65/55w and gives more lumens i chose them.

yeah! check with your contacts and let me know.

thanks

Ashwin, too much pressure from you. I am happy that i am not you are not my boss at office.

Jokes apart, i got hold of the person incharge of automotive lightings at Philips India ( Mr D Basha).

Only h4 ranges are sold in india.
H1 to h7 ranges will be introduced in India from April onwards.

100 samples each of h1 and h7 ranges were supplied ONLY to Reliance Autozone, Gurgoan and Mumbai to test customer reactions.

h1 and h7 ranges sold in other places are DUPLICATES !

Basha said, he will check his stocks if he has any with him by Monday. Will update by Monday evening.
