The scenario applies the most to young professional families - the primary market segment for Ritz.

Maruti, please add the remote boot release.
I agree! They should at least offer it as an accessory as Ford does it for Ikon.

Not to mention, the same tacho can be used in LHD & RHD variants!

I did! And it was a heck of a lot of fun on the empty roads. This li'l 1.2 engine is a true jewel.

p.s. Seems the rear seats do not offer enough thigh support?
Good observation. It was par for the class, but not in the league of a Vista or Getz.

Well, tyres are the easiest to change! The ZXi comes shod with 185's though.

First of all a great Scoop and Review GTO . Brilliant attention to detail and pictures cover almost everything. Could we have some pictures of the engine also?
This looks like another assembeled product from the Maruti Suzuki Parts Bin. The diesel engine and steeering , ash tray are obvious at first glance and I am sure under the Ritzy styling there will be more swift,sx4,a star lurking inside.

Maruti seems to have cracked the premium hatch secret formula which seems to be Great Looks + Peppy Engine / Frugal Diesel + VFM Pricing
+ Maruti Service .

Is this the begning of the end of i20 ?

Seems to be directly aimed for those looking to upgrade from not only the in house Wagon R but also the original tall boy (in India atleast) the santro which has a huge customer base. The Koreans are in trouble again ?

I think this is a masterstroke from Maruti which will now grab even more marketshare.

What happens to Vista and Palio now with the multijet in not one but two Marutis now ?!

Really detailed review and thanks for all the pics

I thought the HU was standard and was touch screen.
Maybe expecting too much

Nice to know the petrol engine is a gem. This will ideally appeal to older people who thought the Swift was a bit more flamboyant for them.

The tacky plastics, common for Maruti,is the big letdown.

Slightly off-topic,but does anyone have any idea about any new updates to the SX4?

Look up Sidindica's new scoop thread. SX4 coming with VVT (variable valve timing) engine and a 1.6 Fiat diesel. Confirmed.

@ GTO: Any comment on the quality of the plastics used in the dash and the doors? the switches do look a lil fragile, if I may say so.
Also did you hear any faint rattles? I know its too early but given the broad swift experiance did the car seem like it would go down the same alley?

Yet another typical Maruti car.

Average looking (from outside & inside), average Handling & riding & probably with good FE & low maintenance.

When will maruti launch a real good car (like Honda, Toyota or even Hyundai)

GTO-thanks for the review and the new photos.

Few observations:

-the coolant reservoir seems quite weathered-might be this car was used as a test vehicle here. What was the odo reading on the car?

-the interior trim seems to have different quality levels, the textured trim on the dash looks fabulous. The trim on the internal arm rest and that covering the ORVM adjustment is quite tacky.

-the 'bellow'-gear stick boot seems to be a little downmarket.

-the split seats are a welcome addition.

-the air volume adjusters on the air vents are also welcome.

@ GTO thats an extremely comprehensive report that you have given there through the pages .

The 1.6 Fiat diesel in SX4 is something which i am eagerly looking forward to , even more curious as to how much horse the FIAT mill will churn out , but i guess i gotta wait for sidindia to post that.
