VW Golf 1.6 Zipped n Ripped..

Hello Everyone..

This is my first productive post here at Team-Bhp. I am student in the uk doing mba and rented the Golf 1.6 for two days and drove about 400 miles.

Me n my friend started the journey from Cardiff to Nottingham with the brand new less than 3000 miles driven Golf to watch the India vs Bangladesh match.

Interiors:
The car interiors were just amazing and the car was fully loaded. I never thought black interiors could give a highend look. two tone seat covers and nice elements of crome on the dash gave it a premium look.
the car seats 5 people well but i can compare it to the interior size of the NHC.

Handling:
The suspension was a bit on the stiffer side but made the car handle good with the 195/65 R15 tyres. It rode extremely well on the british highways and it was glued to the road at 90 m/hr even in the rain. There not a single squeak from the suspension.

Engine:
The 1.6 on the car didnt impress me frankly may be because i rented the Vauxall Astra 1.9 tdi 150bhp which i am going to write about later. The 1.6 did manage to take the car to speeds about 110 miles/hr but felt the car engine was over turning. The accceleration was niether to good nor bad.

Looks:
Well i would rate the car about 7/10. The new headlight looks are to great.

Verdict:

i feel this car has emmense potential and has got all the for a success in indian market too.. provided they keep the pricing and equipment levels right. not like honda providing stripped down cars. Keeping VW premium brand it may keep the equipment levels to be decent enough.

Which company did you rent it from? Hertz has a division which has certain special cars like teh Mini. MX-5 and the R-32. Suggest you try the 2.0 TDI and if possible the R32. Believe me, the R-32 will definitely have you zapped.

Sir, not everyone can describe a beauty of a car like you do

Manyu, All VW's are built like a tank, and build to last a really looooong time.
