If you bought the car for its FE, then you will be rewarded well. With sedate driving you can consistently get 18-19 kmpl (without a/c) and between 15-17 kmpl (with the a/c) in the city.

Its nice to see the rear parcel tray being offered in the new Altos. And don't worry about the notchy gearbox, it will become smooth after about 3,000-5,000 kms of driving and then your shifts will be super smooth. Also, take her out on the highway and you'll be amazed on the solidness she displays at triple digit speeds.

Cheers,

-Getting Carpet Lamination done. So no problem with dirt and water.
-The car will be used only with AC.
-The parcel tray only comes on the spice.
-Gearbox is already becoming smoother.

Just checked the milege today (full tank to full tank method). The car returned 13.79Kmpl. Driving was 40% City and 60% Highway with the AC running 100%.

For a car that's brand new, this mileage is good. You are sure to see a further increase once she clocks a few more miles. Make sure you follow a proper running-in for the car. There is good information available on a thread here.

Perfect thread. This is how all review should be written.
The initial buying process ans experience along with pictures of the car on the first page itself.
Saves people time scanning through pages of congratulations, question and request for pictures.

The ICE has finally gone in. The HU and rear ovals removed from the Siena. Panasonic co-axials are new. Also added is the aux cable. Foglamps have been added too and the headlamps are upgraded to Phillips 100/90W with the relay and harness from Lispart. Meanwhile the car has now covered 700Km. There's a snap when the milege was at an interesting figure. The horrible MGA graphics on the doors have been removed.

Did you get the fogs installed at a dealer as a MGA fitment? They are out of stock here in Bangalore and some dealers have even taken them off the accessory list for the Alto.

I would like to know about that as well. Because the MGA at my dealers' told fog lamps can't be fitted in the bumper for Alto and can be installed only in a crash guard mounted in front. They look lovely on your car!

These fogs used to be available a couple of years back for the Alto but for some reason, only a very few dealers seem to have them as MGA fitments.

The foglamps are not MGA. However they are the same as those used on the Wagon R. The mounting plate (Black) is different though. I got them from an accessories shop with the mounting plate and wiring harness. The price for MGA (Wagon R) is about Rs.2500/- whereas I paid just Rs.1000/- for everything.

Most dealers don't even know that foglamps can be fitted to an Alto.

This is interesting. Perhaps, I will try it out as well. The funny thing is fogs used to be an optional equipment fitment on the Alto and dealers used to stock the fogs as a after market MGA as well. Don't seem to understand why they stopped this.
