I think 6 Airbags & Sunroof means Asta (O) and it will cost more than 8L OTR in Pune, makes no sense to me. :(

I think best alternative for me now is to wait & save for Linea!

Good Comparision .anshuman! very balanced one. Reading all the test drives and experiences over last 2-3 days, I have the same feeling (i have not td i20 yet).

One point that is crossing my mind is the FE and thus the cost of ownership. One is already paying the premium of 80k-1L for i20 over Punto for service network/quality, interiors, more Airbags+sunroof and the 90 BHP Engine. so, if I compare the FE (vs the "Initial Kick" ) - I am going back to Punto feeling it is more VFM - to purchase and to maintain. Moreover, it is becoming case Heart (Punto) vs Head (i20) for me. And I have to figure out that whether a car, for me, is a matter of passion or like a business decision.

In my opinion- Safety should be equal! Agreed i20 has more Airbags but the Punto's configurations is just fine!!

Both cars have 5star NCAP rating in europe, but their europeon versions also have more safety equipment like ESP and more airbags(punto).

That was me. I din't know that the Punto had them too. The Hyundai sales guy made it a point to explain and show everything to me but the Fiat guy never even mentioned it!

I would disagree with you here on the rear space issue. I feel the I20 has a little less rear leg space as compared to the Punto. This has even been proved in another thread that compares leg space of all cars < 25L.

The Punto wins with its better ride quality and then coz of its Italian looks; more plump but curvy.

Disagree !! I think its incorrect to assume that all after sales service centres are outright bad !! There have been plenty of instances where Hyundai service centres have given Hyundai owners a torrid time.

Completely disagree !! Just because i20 has six air bags and disc brakes on all four wheels does not make Punto "unsafe" !!

Hyundai i20 is rated 5 Star on Euro NCAP. It has even better scores than Honda Jazz. See the link below. I do not see the new Punto rated yet by NCAP. So until then i20 is the winner here.

Great review!! Thanks

How is the seat height, leg room and under thigh support for tall drivers in i20 and Punto?

I find it a little lacking in my getz, mainly because of less seat travel and low height seat.

One should compare the ratio of number of issues vs. number of cars sold between 2 companies. IMHO, we have wait at least 6-8 months to pass on any judgement on FIAT/TASS for GP. Until then, it is just a guess.

Even Fiat G Punto is rated 5 Stars on Euro NCAP!

Anshuman,
Gr8 balanced review on both the cars without any biasness.
It will be great if you can take a TD of fabia diesel ambiente as it would help to decide.

That one is GP2005, not the current one.
