Oops, sorry about that. So, what we are missing there is only the individual scores for each aspect of safety (since such granularity is revealed only in recent reports, not older ones)?

It will be great if you can take a TD of fabia diesel ambiente as it would help to decide.
I did testdrive Fabia diesel before buying swift i dont remember if i shared the experience on team-bhp.

In short,Fabia is a strongly built car with best quality interiors in class, ride and handling are also very good, its premium pricing and weak noisy 3 pot engine are major turnoff plus adding icing to the cake is expensive maitainance and the great Skoda aftersales service.

Additionally Punto sold in India is different from the one sold in Europe , while Hyundai is almost similar .

What he meant was that GP is chopped in India by about 45mm to get into the 4m mark. This I think is a valid point, which might have some bearing on the safety. Whether it has a positive bearing or negative, I have no idea.

I dont think restyling of bumpers can reduce the safety of any car.

Palio platform or not, the Indian GP is based on the Brazilian version. This has been confirmed during the GP launch in Mumbai by the the product development manager for Punto in India. So the one you drive here is not identical to the one sold in Europe. For an example, I think the European GP has EPS (Electronic Power steering), the Indian GP has HPS (hydraulic). There are others as well, the position of roof antenna is different - the euro GP has it at the rear of the roof, while the brazilian and indianised GP have it in the front. Infact, the Indian GP and Palio share the same roof antenna.

Short and Fair review Anshuman.

I would suggest Fiat to plonk the VGT MJD engine from Linea in E & E+ models and charge a premium. We could avoid petes.

Not only from top angle view, photographs do not do justice to the design, seeing it in flesh is altogether different experience.

Space issues

Today i went to pickup a friend's Verna from superon hyundai ,checked out the space in i20 again and found that i20 though more spacious than Punto but is actually not very spacious,it cannot fit two large size adults comfortably, let photos do the justice.

This is minimum space i could fit in

i20 CRDi vs Punto MJD :Testdrive-12072009327.jpg

And see with the seat at same place its very uncomfortable.

Can you do the same in the Punto and post the pics please. Please try to be as unbiased as possible when posting the Punto's pics.

I have an opposite observation.

I set the drivers seat to my liking, both in i20 and punto, and then tried sitting behind the driver's seat w/o changing the setting. I found the i20 better in terms of legroom.

However, let me add that i had to push the punto's drivers seat all the way back to be comfy, but in the i20 i got a comfy driving position without putting the seat all the way back. I think it was a inch or so forward from the completely pushed back position.
