I never said 195/60-14 is best for getz. Handling is not great with 14".
Side wall rubber in 195/55-15 is more compared to 205/50-15. So first will have decent ride quality and very good handling. 195 is max required for getz IMO.

FYI, i have used 195/60-14 Michelin PP1, 205/50-15 Maxxis on my getz crdi. Planning to change tires to 195/55-15 shortly.
Well, the sidewall is pretty hard in an AD07. It wont make any difference. Technically, the car is supposed to handle better because there is less rubber to flex. But with an AD07, the sidewall is pretty hard. It wont make much of a difference. But your ride comfort will be so much better.

I've tested and am using the AD07s. That is why I'm able to speak from personal experience.

Lots of guys on the forum are using Ad07s in 195/60 R14. Kartik Kumar on his swift, Binz and Crazydiablo on their Balenos.

Sorry to hijack your thread Brraj.

Picked up a spanking new ash grey , not really a eye catching shade of paint but no option really last car available @ 4.99 price... Got it for 5.36 on-road with a remote central locking & basic accessories as freebies. will put on some pics soon.

Guys needed some help with the tyres selection upgrading to 185/65/R14 got a quote for Bridgestone G3's for 3200 per tyre & Xm1 for 3800 a tyre. the guys said he will buyback the stock tyres for 9k for 4 tyre.

Not many post recently about the G3's have they been discontinued..?? how are they compared to the Xm1, bit strapped for vitM at the moment so will the G3's be a good enough choice..???

GIIIs are bad. Stay away. Go in for the XM1+ or the Yoko A drive. Yoko A drive would make more sense as it's much cheaper as well.

GIIIs are noisy, have a hard ride and dont grip great compared to the other performance tyres.

Go for Yokos or BS Er 60(not available in 185/65 R14 unfortunately) or Michelin. I say it's worthwhile to spend the extra money on Michelin.

First of all, Advan Neovas can be classified as 'cheater' tyres. A 195 width AD-07 will certainly be wider than, say, a 195 width Goodyear NCT. This is because these are the ultimate street tyres, and in certain motorsport events where only street tyres are allowed, every extra mm counts. So your 195mm Neova may actually be 200 or even 205mm.

Raj, I sincerely suggest you go for 205/50 R15 Neovas on the Getz. It could save your life. Nikhil, trust me on this, with the kind of power and driving style Raj's Getz is going to see, 195 just won't cut it.

BTW, if you still want 195s, I'm sacking my PP2s. :P

dont jump over me for this.

hows it being mentioned in this thread that the AD-07 will prevent the tyres from skidding?? under hard braking.!!.

whats the logic? better grip would be there agreed aiding in handling and breaking. but not simulate ABS!!.

best bet would be to get the stock discs of getz and get it drilled from a reputed street race car builders!.
even then the tyres will lock up under hard braking but not as fast as stock discs .

try any swift with tarox rotors. it will break much better ( its just having a better thread pattern on the rotors thats all. not the drilled type. but in getz i dont think you can get rotors with better thread pattern, frilling would be better option. but finding someone wouldnt be difficult right. afterall its banglore!! )

dont try unwanted stunts with just a tyre upgrade

Hunh? From personal experience? And knowing for a fact that AD-07's are probably the best tires money can buy you at the moment in this country?

Have you driven a car with AD-07's? Those tires are nicknamed "chewing gums" for a very good reason.

Thomas, let us have a review of your statement after driving a car shod with chewing gums shall we ?

Mclaren i have driven them!

i know they are the best option india right now. but its still not as good as ABS. thats what i meant.

yes if you compare a stock appolo accelere and AD-07 there will be tremendous increase in grip leading to better braking, yes skidding is what i also mean here but in panic situations. i don't think it will be as good as ABS. i never argued that neovas are bad!! my argument is that both having ABS and neovas on a non ABS equipped vehicle is not the same!!

another very good trick or habit is to gear down also with braking, in that way you will have the torque ready to pull you ahead with a shove when ever you brake hard in addition to better braking

and i kind of felt that the thread opener has the feeling that not having ABS can be justified by using advan neovas!! . thats not the way to putting it. its more like putting advan neovas will be taking the vehicle a step closer to the ABS standard, better rotors, break pads etc is an even further step! heck putting the neovas is also taking a step closer to TCS. but neovas cant replace ABS or TCS !!

i hope you got the crux of what i meant

They are not a replacement for ABS! That's just stupid, but I've had the Advans lock up JUST ONCE on my dad's NHC Vtec. This car is without ABS. With the S322s, they used to lock at every given opportunity.

If you dont have ABS, the Advans do a good job os simulating ABS in most situations.

You've got it totally wrong! Why dont you read the posts again?

You'll realise that we're debating the merits of AD07s while braking.

ABS is good to have in ANY CAR, irrespective of which tyre is there. But in case you dont have ABS, AD07s will prevent lock up in a biiig way.
