I would not cross drill existing Indian rotors. That is absolutely dangerous, and I have seen stress fractures on more than one locally cross-drilled rotor in India. It is a bad idea.

FYI WHY Blank rotors are better than cross drilled and/or slotted - Honda-Tech

5 days and the thread has already crossed 6 pages.
Talks volumes of the FAN following for Rajiv (brraj) and his toys.

It is going to be fun to see how our ABS - EBS obsessed man turns the getz into a playstation.

All the best on booking the Getz!!! (How can I forget) CRDI

All F1 cars use carbon fibre composite brake discs which save weight and are able to operate at higher temperatures than steel discs. The brake pads are of different material as well.

Yes, they aren't. Because its got something to do with contact surface area being decreased with holes in it to enable dissipation of heat. The funda being very similar to having grooved tires instead of slicks.

I just heard Satya got his rotors drilled yesterday. I am just keeping my fingers crossed.

Spoke to many tuners and the answer was what you have said. If i am going for drilled rotors it will be from a reputed company only.

so as of now its
- Advan neova tyres.
- Brake pads.
- Got one more suggestion from a tuner to change the brake fluid to a better one.

Booked one more silky beige Getz crdi for our very own team-bhp member HARRIE, congrats dude.
Its waiting for him in stock yard, once he pays cash she is all his .

I have to say this guy is lucky because as i saw his pm i got a call from hyundai that one customer has canceled booking for getz crdi.

I have asked them to get another 5 getz crdis, lets see who all are lucky team-bhp'ns.

Satya is "cmiuc" on the forum. He had the fastest of all the elantra's and its a pity to see him sell that wonderful piece of machinery. However he acquired Rajiv's elantra. Last I spoke to them last evening, they were all set to go and get the rotors drilled. And once Satya gives his word, he doesn't back out. Heck! The sole reason he sold my favourite car was because some stranger kept pestering him for the car and he couldn't say no .

Thank god! For those who are not aware, even Brembo makes pads and rotors for the Elantra.

Congrats to Sajeet. He did call me for a getz and I put him through to brraj. May this tribe grow.

OT, I have atleast noticed brraj's handle being changed by members atleast 3 times. Lol.

so all is fine. no need to go for drilled rotors.

i thought the driled rotors are being looked at for the getz also. for the elantra brembo brakes are always there. if i am not mistaken , australia is a tuner hot destination for the elantra gasoline models. things like brake rotors etc can easily be got from there . provided the rotors on the gasoline and diesel elantra are the same?

do go through my previous post. i was informed on the hyundai forum that seuol racing / kdm stuff guys have a 12 inch drilled rotors avaialble. these are original ones intended for hyundai cars. no idea whether or not they are suitable for getz.

the part number was also mentioned in my previous post.

by the way the elantra has both abs and tcs. the best wat to go about would be to go for a better rotor and a higher pot brake caliper.

Yup! Both the petrol and the diesel elantra's come with 10.1'' rotors.

I have asked Rajiv to measure the dia of the getz rotors and compare it to the elantra's. Also it makes no sense to get bigger rotors if one cant find the replacement caliper. And I haven't come across any company selling aftermarket calipers yet for the elantra.

I agree, find the rotors and pads is easy. Now to find out who makes calipers.
