Folks,

This is a public forum, please try to keep the VIN numbers to PMs only. It is just a precautionary measure.

If you need a VIN decoder just google it up.

After the 1st service some how i feel that, while driving on a straight roads and when leaves the steering the car is slightly drifting to sides, mostly on the left side. This also happens when applying brakes suddenly.

Shall i go for a check up? is this is a matter of concern? please advise .

This might happen due to incorrect wheel allignment.
get your wheel allignment checked from a reputed outside garage / tire store.
This can also occur due to uneven brake wear.
IMO people really notice the car drifting to left first because the roads are sloped towards left!
Please correct me if i am wrong .

Hi Wildon,

The wheel alignment will cost you Rs. 200 to 250 and I suggest to visit the service center and explain your issue to them. Further, as Sid said, yes due to Road caster there will be slight pull on left but that will be very negligible even you will not be able to notice so much. Further, In my opinion, just check by fitting right side wheel on left and the left side on right, if pull is reveresed then you may try taking your back wheels in front. All modern cars do not have much adjustment except Toe so technician will try to adjust toe. In my opinion exchanging wheels and trying will be better before doing wheel alignment as it will be clear whether it is wheel alignment issue or tyre thread mis-matchissue.

Guys, any inputs on whether switching the alloys will affect warranty? I'm really concerned about this, sicne I'm going in for the 5-year extended warranty and I don't want to pay almost 15k and then void the warranty on day 1 itself by changing the alloys.

If it matters, I'm going in for 14" itself mostly, and sticking with the Aceleres. Anyone in the know?

It might void the warranty on suspension. Check with hyundai helpline (not with teh dealer as they shall always try to persuade you not to)

3000 k.m UPDATE

Here is my 3000 k.m update

Done trip to chennai and pondichery and this time FE improved. 14.76. The ECR road was superb and a pleasure to drive, Sorry no pics. While returning from Pondi to Chennai at night time a black stray dog came across and got crushed under the rightside wheels. I was doing 100-110 on that stretch and couldn't get a chance to avoid that and ran through it with out braking. Damage has done.

Right side bumber under the front fog light got a crack/borken, and the front right side fog light fittings broken. Dont know whether the front bumber has to be changed or just a minor fix.

Edit:-Pics added

Looks like your first insurance claim for your I20

Hey,

Have been following this thread for a while now, I recently brought a dark grey i20 (my first car), your inputs and queries posted on the forum for the loan section were very useful. I can't find time to complete and post the detailed report

IMHO, the insurance should be able to cover the damage done so no worries, the important thing is that everyone is safe.

Do update the thread about the fix. Safe driving.
