Brick Red Alto Delivered!!!

First of all, let me thank all TBHPns who gave feedback on my query
regarding the purchase of an Alto.
Details here
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/hatchb...xi-august.html

My requirements were
1) City monthly running of about 500 KMs
2) Once in three months 500 KM highway trip
3) Reliable and efficient after sales service and
4) Budget of Rs 3 lakhs.

Received quotes from all showrooms in Trichur. Quote received from M/s Indus motors was the best and booked a fire brick red Alto Lxi with them on last week of July. Sales man Mr Praveej was very polite and straight forward guy. The delivery wad scheduled on 8th August.

The onroad price was Rs 286730. Feebies offered were Side beeder, LH ORVM, Wheel cup, Floor mat, Streeing grip, Mud flap, 5 ltr petrol coupen, Air freashner and a free service pack of Indus (free oil and oil filter in 1sr service, discount in second service etc )

Showroom experience

We reached the showroom in the morning, before registration, and checked the car with the TBHP checklist. The Odo meter reading was 6KM and the engine bay was clean and underbody rust free. PDI was done, other paper works were completed and spotlessly clean car was delivered by noon.
The entire procedure was very smooth and cordial.
Later in the day an ICE worth Rs 9000.00 was fixed. Boston HU and Pioneer speakers in front and rear.

Driving experience

Being a 3 pot motor, we have to slightly rev her to move. AC is powerfull. Streeing is very light. Alto holds on to the road better than my other car - Wagon R. Already had a 466KM highway ride, which gave a mileage of 17KM/litre. Car has nor yet completed 600KMs. First service was done last week and total cost was NIL. Oil and oil filter was changed free of cost.

Over all, considering all factors like capital cost, opex, reliable A.S.S,etc I think Alto a very VFM car. Iam very happy with it.

Welcome to the Alto club

ontheroad,

Congrats on your buy and welcome to the Alto club buddy!

Being an Alto owner myself, I can vouch for the reliability of the car. I have just cloocked a little over 20,000 kms in mine and have enjoyed the experience thus far!

There are many Alto owners on this forum and you are in the right place if ever you need any advice.

Btw, isn't your car's color called wine red?

Best wishes,
gpa

congrats ontheroad, the alto is one of the best cars to have. i have seen this because my uncle has one. the interior is cramped but the ride is smooth and the cost to maintain is very low.

@ontheroad : Congrats on your new car. Despite the puny engine, the car is fun to drive around twisties. Ofcourse, dont forget to turn off the A/C before you decide to overtake!

Ah! Thats a pity, considering how much these were the two colors which suited the Alto the most. In fact, in Kerala the chances of spotting an Alto which happens to be in wine red is just so high.

Can't go wrong with India's best selling car! Congrats ontheroad. The Alto offers a lot for the price, and comes with a pretty tight build too (especially when you compare it to the M800).

Drive safe.

Congrats on the new car, it looks great. I really like the design too, looks like it has a lot of interior room.

Hi, welcome to the Alto club!

Are you sure about the free oil and filter change? I was charged for this during first service.
