I must say you took a decision with both head and heart.
Congrats on the new purchase.Hope you convince more Indians to
do the same.Dare I say , it is a great car.I was all waiting for it when it first came along but the price somehow looks like a hard mental block to accept.Dunno how long I will live in this situation though.
Currently in Manza -fantasy.Same with the Ninja 250 in the bike department.

Looking forward to your long term ownership review.BTW , let us know your highway driving experiences on this Jazz.Top speed and all that.
Enjoy..And I liked this forum soap with twists and turns.

So, another jazz is added somewhere in our family on my recommendation. She was going for I20, but I did not recommend her.
wow just when the drama was shaping up, you got another jazz in your family, cool!Alloys looks cool but a little overpriced for the design they provide, this should be available as stock on jazz i feel.

Jazz is really a wonderful car. I seriously need to take "How to convince" lessons from you. Couple of my friends / relatives discarded Jazz because of high price and feature less package. I personally feel, it is the best one available.

Hi ji,
It is a great car. The shining red.Beautiful alloys.Any how it did not allow me to think of it due to the high Fe which is too much for a person like me who drives around 2400 to 3000 km per month.
Thanks for the great picture show.take care of Jazz as well as you too.

Great choice!!

Hi Sid,

Really loved reading your narrative. Refreshingly different, and touched a chord - reminds me of my mom and dad (who unfortunately live in another city). I know how much the older generation used to think before spending every hard-earned paisa! Seems things are too easy for us younger generation nowadays.

I too am in search of a good car (sedan or hatchback, petrol or diesel) in the 8L range.

Due to the out-of-the-world interiors (my wife just fell in love with it and refuses to look at anything else) and the overall package, I've decided on the Jazz as compared to the SX4 even though the latter is a bigger car at the same price. I loved the Fiesta and it was my first choice (great car, small size for suitable for both city and highway driving), but because of the Ford service, and news that it could be replaced by a new model in May-2010, I dropped it.

Surprisingly, the Honda showroom experience was the best I've had (in Bangalore), when compared to Maruti, Hyundai and Ford. The guy was polite, and actually agreed that the car was over priced.

The only con I could see in the Jazz (other than the price) is the low ground clearance (160mm for a wheelbase of 2500mm). Did you face any problems with the low GC? I know from the posts here that the City (160mm for a wheelbase of 2550mm) definitely faces problems clearing speed-breakers. As you would know by now, Bangalore is Speed-breaker city, and I also plan to go for weekend outings (1 per month) where the roads can get really bad. Will this car be able to handle that?

Secondly, do you see any chance of discounts on this car in Jan-2010? What about any new engine variant being introduced for the current price (e.g. a 1.4L one)?

Wish you and your parents Jazzy times,

Nikhil

Sometimes things can take turn for good. My bro has shifted to greater Noida and so, I had to say goodbye to my santro forever as he will now drive it to his office.

Meanwhile, I am now without any car for my personal use, and I cannot fight with my parents for the jazz.
But I need something, so maybe this will come soon? still a 50-50 chance.
Depends upon a negotiation.

Its an even rarer automobile than the one that many peple own here. And if I do succeed in a deal, this car may be one of a kind here.
Wish me luck.

2003 April Fiat Siena 1.6 ELX, done just 32000 km, serviced at samyak, runs absolutely fine.

Work required:
  • new rear reflector on the bumper
  • ELX badging
  • tyres are fine but will be changed to michelins.
Car is very well maintained, very clean (pics on the bonnet are dust.)

Bodywork is fine, just very minor scratches on front bumper. Just really hope that I get my hands on it if everything goes smoothly.
