130 bhp, VVT-i, Airbags, climate control and all round discs..here she is.

Just thought of sharing this info with you guys.

The corolla is home and boy does she stand out!!!

Great power delivery, smooth ride. although the gearbox is a lil notchy compared to a honda . All in all the features for the price is just value for money all the way. She's done 43000kms,was a single owner and comprehensive insurance and whats more. She's BLUE!!!! YAY!. Powered by a 1zz-FE engine 1.8L throwing out 125+BHP, with disc brakes, climate control, 6 cd changer, airbags and more.

Check out this link for more details.

'03 Toyota Corolla Codename "Gaijin" H2 - nitroxx's Photo Gallery - Team-BHP

For starters, I'd like to list a few pros and cons about owning a corolla from my point of view and the experience that I've had in the past few days.

Cons are 1) harsh / stiff ride quality compared to others in the same segment.
2) handling seems slightly feeble at speeds beyond 140.
3) in the H2 variant there is a console lid above the ashtray that cannot be fixed once broken, not that mine has. But an observation.
4) gear box is a tad notchy.
5) glove console once loose cant be fixed
6) compared to the hondas' high speed cornering has a lot more weight strain and body roll.

Pros..where do i start?? UMM...

a) bulletproof engine
b) insane acceleration / torque for its class.
c) tight body structure / build quality.
d) electric everything. LOL!
e) cheap spare parts. / easily available.
f) EFFICIENCY is excellent.
g) great gear ratios.
h) excellent ground clearance.
I) brilliant visibility
J) superb Climate control system.
K) silent cabin zone and minimal engine sound.

and so much more.. All in all it's what I've always wanted in India. Took her upto 6K revs today for the first time in the second, gotta say she's got juice even after 43K kms.

Thanks Toyota for all your research and development. It pays off everytime.

For the record mileage for this week reported at 12.5 avg per litre with the aircon set to 19 degrees and low fan speed. shifts were made at 2500 revs or less.
1st to 2nd 2.5k rev change
2nd to 3rd usually at 2.5K
3rd to 4th 2.3K
maximum gear used 3rd.

More pictures coming soon...

Next stop, new tyres.

Congratulations Nitroxx! A fantastic used buy is akin to spotting a diamond in the rough, and one is really hard-pressed to beat the sheer value from pre-owned Corollas. She will serve you well for a long time to come. Heck, at only 43K kms, she is still a virgin!

Thanks you guys so much, I do believe that the corolla is a really nice car although the ride quality is slightly harsh compared to the honda's.
@ ramsagar - brother, you don't need to pardon yourself', we all learned with time. the H2 is a manual.
@wanderlust india - surely with all paper work she's cost me rs.355000/- single owner comp insurance. This car belonged to Kotak mahindra bank. To the Asst VP I believe.
@NC - It's a manual, still using my left leg while driving
@ bhp - dude where are you??thanks alot. lets get in touch.
@ GTO - Thanks alot mate, Yes I do believe that she's just barely legal. so will watch her grow patiently this time round. |Thanks.

That is a bloody steal,Micky!
My only grouse is the handling. Didn't do any research on it, but are koni single-adjustables available? What about aftermarket springs?
PS: This had to be blue, heh?

@ nitrous: lol! yeah man it had to be blue..living up to my identity. struts are provided by Bilstein,TRD,Tein and more. and this used to be a sold in the east asian market as the altis G in 2003 code E120. there are more than 300 bolt on performance parts that i can look into at a later stage, including a complete TRD upgrade package that includes a CAI,springs, suspension arms, alloys, strut braces, mounts of all sorts and more.

For now I have decided not to spend on aftermarket products at all. As I've realized that during sale there's absolutely no return from all that. However, A lil here and there might still happen in due course of time.

Wow stunning buy. A Corolla for A-Star money. And being a Toyota, you are assured of a trouble free and cheap ownership too. And the colour looks excellent!
