So you paid the insurance money too? I thought most cars come with 1st year insurance free unless it's a brand new car in the market.

Out here in Hyderbad, thumb rule is OTR price is 12.5% of Ex-Showroom price if your paying everything from your pocket.

@govinda-govinda
How come you paid insurance which supposed to be free for first year
(my dealer told me that 1st year free insurance offered by Ford) and I got it free??

@mobike, nairrk: I got a very good Corporate discount offer, to the tune of 50k+ and hence the Insurance on me.

Congrats !! Welcome to the Fiesta club. Blue color with the alloys makes it look neat.
Generally, there is a transparent sticker pasted in the middle of the alloy wheel (on the Ford marking). Remove it off, as it will leave a permanent mark if water starts falling on it

Possibly, that may be reason.
They may not want to give you more and more discount, hence did not mention you about the free insurance.
Thanks

Congrats on getting a super driver's car! That looks like Lathangi Motors.

I'd picked up my Cedia from the very same place not so long ago.

Running report - first 1000km:

The car is effortless to drive on the highways. And I love the exhaust note around 3k rpm. Revved to 3.5k - 4k a couple of times, in 1-2 gears :( by mistake.
Top speed achieved so far 120kmph on an empty stretch along NH4. Service Manager asked me to let her rip to 140kmph a couple of times, early in her life.

Am loving the comfortable seats, with drivers seat at its lowest.
Steering wheel feels lovely to hold, and is your best friend in relaying whats happening on the tarmac below.
Tyre noise has reduced considerably after the first 250km.
Even at idling, engine is pretty loud on the outside, but silent enough in the cabin.
Took a couple of sweeping curves on the Hebbal flyover at decent speeds, the car stays planted, as expected.
All 3 on the rear seats were very comfortable on the 250km drive.
Second looks are usually guaranteed.
The car doesn't look very wide from the outside, a 9mm wider City looks considerably bigger in width.

Running @ 32psi all around.
Shifting gears around 1.5k to 2k rpm.
Rear seats are rarely used.

Couple of minor incidents:
A cycle fell on the stationary car.
A very minor thread like scratch on rear left door.
Few very light cement spots (very small in size), due to dripping water when parked.

The stuttering gear changes are actually bothering me. These surface only when I change from 0-1, 1-2. Tried pushing the knob hard to the left while shifting, and this seems to help. Comparing this too a fortnight older i10 at home, the Hyundai shifts are butter smooth. May be a little more on the Odo will change things.
-------------------

@nityanand: Thanks for the tip. I had missed these.

Things to get: Car duster (like Shaju's) Will try to source the duster gift set.
Garware Ice Cool: (like Raamki's, Shaju's) Not sure if I need this though. I also love the clear windows (these allow 70% light as is)

And unknowingly, there always is a lot of gap between Ocean and the following traffic, immediately after a signal turns green

Man, we should have a Ford Fiesta drive. What an IDEA!
All Ford Fiesta owners PM me. We shall have a long drive together (preferably to a pretty locale like South India, together)
