I just had a final check of my car today evening. Went armed with the PDI check list posted in the forum. The guys at ford werent exactly pleased when i was extensively checking the things mentioned in the checklist

COLOUR = Silver, personaly i like morello but I was outnumbered on this..

They further lost it when I told them I'll be taking delivery tomorrow morning in broad daylight...
I have the car keys with me so technically the car is in my possesion.

Here is thebreakup of the cost

Ex-Showroom = 5,36,000/-(with factory fitted electric boot release)
Registration = 29,000/- (approx includes temp registration charges)
Insurance = 13,561/- Offered Free/year ending gift
Total = 5,65,000/- on road

Freebies in total
Insurance = 13,561/- already mentioned above
Extended warranty = 6990/-(Free my relative is an exisitng FORD customer)
Under Chasis antirust package with 5 year waranty worth 3,928/-

Accesories Purchased
Rear Spoiler = 7,950/-

Accesories to be fitted in next 7 days
AutoCopwith automatic windows rollup relay = 4,000/-
ICE buget = 15K(increased) JBL 947 in the rear with a pioneer DVD compatible + USB HU something like DVH4090
Alloys = Having a big problem with this
Tyres = As soon as the alloy problem is fixed(Michellin XM1+ 185/60R14)
Windshield Sun/Anti Glare Film most likely 3M

Things troubling me
Alloys If I go for 14 inch x 6J will they cause problems
Damping the bonnet/hood any ideas on this one
Side body/Door moulding/patti the one that we get with fiesta where can I get that..???

108 PCD alloys is what you should be looking for. Plati has some decent designs in 13" & 14".

Older Ikons did come with hood damping. See this :

Try if you can source this from the dealer or someplace.

The Fiesta side strips would look good, but the painted ones with the chrome strip would cost about 4k.

Some pics, please.

Kevin Pietersen, I am sure you do know better than me, but I just feel that a temp regn cannot include LTT.

Didnt bother too much regarding that coz Dads got some friends in RTO who took care of the temp registration stuff(i think its abt 2.5K). Will be paying the roadtax n registration charges of abt 26.5k when I do so called "permanent registration". on 04 jan 2010 next year so will be having the 2010 stuff written all over my RC book.
will be paying an addition 10k for a premium/choice number

AFAIK, TR stands for temp reg to take your car out to another district/state, if you can manage to get it regd in the same state/district with a new 2010 number, very good then. Happy New Year buddy.

thankx for the info regarding the damping n other stuff bro

regarding the alloys
According to the dealer "neowheel alloys come in 14" x 6J size and not 5.5J size and have a 32mm offset".
but the neowheel website says differently..
FORD IKON TDCI.. Its mine now! "The Josh Machine"-alloys.jpg

So friends please tell me if 14" x 6J size with 32mm offset will fit in an IKON TDCI without any trouble..??? or should i get 14" x 5.5J which is very difficult here in Goa with aura alloys out of the picture.

UPDATE:
just contacted neowheels and there have the 14 inch x 5.5J alloys of my choice . The only thing troubling me is that they have an offset of 32mm.

Incase I order them and after installing they touch the inside of the car can I rectify that by using spacers..???

I have no idea regarding spacers only thin I know is that they somehow bring the wheels away from the car body

thankx

Congrats on the car. be very careful when choosing the alloys. I would suggest you to stay with the company recommended PCD. Please post some pics of your ride.

@Agent009, I checked with Nikhil. It's a 32 offset. So, go !

Coming to your above post, Ikon does not show up in the list of cars since the stock size is 13". You are seeing the details of 14" x 5.5J. Go for the 5.5J, 14" alloys.

Offset of 32mm is correct for Ikon. Dont worry about it.
