Mind it, it is still not an alloy just the steel one
is this check not in the Team BHP PDI check list? we should add a task in checklist to have spare tyre profile checked!

Good idea recshenoy.
But in my case, I had taken the car with stock wheels initially and dealer took back the car later for upgrade. So this mistake happend later when they delivered the car back to me.

Any way, couple of days back they have replaced the 15'' one with 16'' wheel/tyre.

Yesterday for the first time I had to drive my car on a stop and go traffic for around 20mts.
At the end of it my right foot was paining which never happened with the Petra.
I find the Break-pedal postion a little uncomfortable. May be I am yet to find a good seating position.

Great review, Sivadas.

She looks fantastic, enjoy her to the fullest.

A quick question, can you fill her up with the normal petrol or only the speed kind?

Also, does the laura have a sunroof in any of it's trim levels?

Thanks anekho.
Yes, ideally it should be 95 octane petrol which is difficult to get.
Skoda people have specifically told not to use extra addictives. Existing premium petrol (with addictives like Speed, Power XtraPremiu etc) are fine it seems.

Petrol Laura (only Abiente trim is available) does not have a sunroof where as Diesel L&K variant has it.

The older Laura had sunroof on L&K trim. The facelifted Laura does not have sunroof for any trims. It's available only on the Superb.

The auto wiper is becoming a minor irritant. This guy jumps into action with the slightest provacation. Not sure, where the whater is coming from though.

Last week at a petrol bunk, as usual one person started cleaning the front wind screen. Smelling water, wiper swung into action to the utter shock of this guy. He shouted and jumped back and started laughing, my son had a nice laugh too.

Why have you kept the auto-wiper 'on' when there are no rains around? I keep the wiper stalk on 'off' position these days. During monsoons, i keep the stalk on 'on' position and let the auto wiper do it's job.

Frankly speaking, I was not knowing how to do this. I will disable it at the earliest. Still going through the manual to find out many things.
Thanks Akki.

No, never thought of it. Isn's it really outdated compared to competition as well as siblings?

@sivdas,
Can you help me with the following:
What's your engine no. and chassis no. and month of manufacture?
I would like to confirm the month of manufacture for mine while taking the delivery...

anandpadhye, there is a separate thread where you can get these details from the VIN.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...dian-cars.html

You could ask the sales folks to inform you of the VIN before registration. And then get these details from wildon by posting in that thread.

As sbraj pointed out, you can find the month of manufacture from the other thread.
Another easy change you can check out is the omission of Cigaratte lighter & Ash tray in new set of Lauras. I mean, the available 12V socket cannot be used for lighting cigarattes.
I am not sure on the exact month Skoda started this change.
