GR8NATIVE,

How was your booking experience at Automatrix Mangalore?

@recshenoy- booking experience so far has been great,the guy knows what he is talking about and has been really nice. He said" we are selling punto like hot cakes about 30 a month" which i thought was a very good number.
for some reason my previous reply has not been posted .
@ sidindica eagerly awaiting your experience ...

Thanks for all your kind replies.

I haven't driven the car that much (less than 100 km on the odo) because I am yet to receive the number 7-double ooh 7 (the car has temp plates). Just asked the dealer (was tied up with work and that long article in the past few days) and he said it is ready. Plates are also ready and will have them installed by Sunday.

Meanwhile, the very short run I did with the punto has been full of immense pleasure. Its rock solid on the highway and the bottom end torque just makes it effortless to pilot in the city. The NVH is definitely improved and the the ride and steering feel are nothing short of outstanding. Low seating position is a boon for me.

Top end performance will be improved after the running period. Since the car is now pretty common, it didn't turn enough number of girls, maybe they like red, but overall I am happy with the new 2010 MY Punto.

Don't be scared by the falling sales figures. I have bought it with a reason-I need a robust diesel car which can withstand abuse of Delhi roads within a decent budget and good mileage. The dealers are improving, and will surely recommend Urmil motors for those living in Ghaziabad/Delhi region in case they are interested in buying Tata/Fiat cars.

I will update more later, once I start using the car for long distances and will start clocking 4 figure in the odo. Till then, happy puntoing!

By late 2011, I think my car should receive these upgrades as shown below:

@jackson's

I too just read that in the car sales thread. It is definitely good news but I was hoping for a number close to 3000 units (too optimistic). Fiat has to step on the gas as far as model upgrades are concerned. Give the Punto better interiors and launch a publicity blitz, at the same time give the Linea the T-jet.

Amartya, your concern is every body's concern to buy Fiat products and nothing wrong about that but you need to trust a company for their efforts they are putting in to withstand a very dominating by other car companies.

I remember Sid mentioning a 15% improvement on noise level in 2010 model.

Sid one question - is this figure mentioned by FIAT officially , I mean how the actual percentage was derived?
