-Facebook update. He should be happy as he got his car before April. Mustang helped him through some of his colleagues for speedy delivery.Anyhow it is a happy ending for him except the ban.

I would certainly say so.

Punto was what I started out to buy. But
1. The 1.4 felt sluggish and reluctant to move.
2. The rear seats felt cramped with less glass area.
3. Rear windscreen is way to small for comfort.
4. Interiors lacked the quality and finish.
5. Boot is too tall and narrow with regular shaped bags.

The best bits were
1. Climate control
2. Lots of integrated gadgets

Yet decided on Figo simply because
1. Rear felt much more airy
2. Boot has a boxy shape and is more usable
3. Even the 1.2 never felt as sluggish and was eager to be driven
4. Larger rear windscreen and brighter dual reversing lamps than actually illuminate, and not just indicate

Will miss
1. Climate control
2. The look of the Punto

Build quality is not great in either so essentially the price difference comes to the looks. Now the Figo is no Hot Hatch but its no damp squib either. As far as sluggishness goes, they all are compared to the Fusion.

With
Fog Lamps for the front - Rs 4500/-
USB Cable for ICE - Rs 1100/-
14" Alloys - Rs 15500/-

I will still have some balance left.

Punto (1.4 Emotion Pack) on road in Bangalore - Rs 7,19,511/- (Carwale)
Figo (1.2 Titanium) on road in Bangalore - Rs 5,21,377/- (Carwale)

And thats a lot of difference.

How about this :D

Punto (1.2 Emotion) - Rs.5,04,279/- (Carwale)
Figo (1.2 Titanium) - Rs.4,64,404/- (Carwale)

I guess that should be a more fair comparison.

Btw what are those follow me home headlamps?

The same we have on the fusion. The park lights stay on for a few seconds when you open / lock the car.

I wonder why they did not provide it on the figo. Its not a costly affair is it. Its a very good feature at nights.

@gemi : Ok yea, I guess its not a costly affair. It only involves some electronics like a timer & stuff. I never knew that they are known by this name. We call it courtesy lamps.

Any other issues you are facing with your car?

Follow me home headlamps is a feature provided on more premium cars.
My scorpio had them, essentially after a night drive, when you park the car and lock it with your remote, the head lamps will switch ON and illuminate the pathway to aid you in walking safely towards your home. They switch off automatically after a 30second (adjustable) timer.

It is a feature more in tune to european culture where you park your car in the driveway and walk towards the door. Not so much useful to those who live in the urban jungle and especially those who park their cars outside on the road.

I think that's Delhi or Mumbai. People in Bangalore will pay almost Rs 70,000 /- for the Figo (1.2 Titanium)

The best bit is that the Punto 1.2 I found a lot better because of it's low end torque than the 1.4 for city use.

Probably the most valid reason for me to chose a Figo over Punto is that I have to deal with one After Sales Service, Ford for both the cars. Just easier.

I had contacted Ford customer service asking whether my company figures in their corporate list, as dealer had told me that it does not. Dealer further said you please get details about 5 Ford cars from my company or we can mail Ford requesting the information.
After a bout of procrastination I finally called Ford customer service. And within couple of hours they not only confirmed that my company is listed, thus me getting 3rd year warranty free, but also had the dealer call me for more information.
It seems there was some miscommunication and they were serious enough to iron out this wrinkle, immediately. clap:

You know what - I work in the IT division of Ford, and the dealer told me that that department is not covered. I'm sitting still from that shock.

I just think I made a big mistake choosing Ford. Penny pinchers.
