Does that mean the extra Rs. 1510.00 is the labour charge? Isn't that too much? Has anyone from outside Pune added front fog lamps?

Hi Figopian,

This has been discussed in Gemi's thread. Apparently, the newer batches of the Figo comes with in-built fog compatible switches, where the headlight switch can be pulled up to activate the fogs (I personally checked it out at the showroom), and also the wiring for the fogs is installed at the factory end itself. Hence for the new cars, the fog price includes just lamps + labor. While for the old cars, you need to replace the headlight switch, and also provide wiring in addition to it. So effectively older car owners pay the old price (~4.5K excluding labor)

@S_U_N
It should be art-leather seat covers.

I have been looking for a new car for sometime now, and been through the entire range in my budget. due to certain changes in priority, we think a hatchback would be ideal. We dont want to consider a Hyundai, and the Figo was one of our initial choices.

Based on ownership experiences, which one would you recommend to buy? Petrol or Diesel? I would require ABS and airbags, so it has to be the Titanium I guess; While I understand this will be based on my driving, I expect this to be borderline (around 1500 km a month). Thanks for any advise/ recommendations

1500 kms a month is good enough for diesel, I drive less than that and i have a diesel.

Heard from Ford that some branded phones including nokia have pairing problems with the audio. Ford has released new audio software version.
So better to check with the demo car and buy the compatible phone as well :).

Regarding some issues on my service compensation, no reply from Ford despite sending reminders. Response is pathetic.

Has anybody done tyre rotation after 10k including spare wheel. Is there any specific method recommended by Ford.
Normal rotation suggested is interchange diagonally from Front to Rear and new spare going to front right and the left rear becoming a spare.

Can the new audio software be updated onto the existing audio system?

Also, when is the second service due?

Does anyone have any info on the design of the alloy wheels currently available for Figo by Ford (OE)?

The accessories list shows that there are 4 designs available.

Pictures would be appreciated :)

^^ it was on there site in the accessories section when I last checked.

http://www.india.ford.com/servlet/Co...Page&site=FIPL

Click on the customize button, it then shows the pics of all the accessories which you can scroll down to view the alloys :) .

I use a nokia 5800 Xpress music and it pairs without a problem. All functions work perfectly. One grouch is that the GPS instructions sound only when the src is in BT audio and not other modes.

@theoriginal -- appreciate your effort in putting up the link, but even the customize option shows 3 designs of alloy wheels and misses out on {14" Alloy wheels Kit, Sports} which is priced on par with 14" split-silver.

Wish to view the sports variant along with a pic of split-silver. (love 5 spoke design wheels)

oh well, it was worth a shot ,:D lets see if anyone else can help.

^ I remember someone else quoting Rs. 4500 for the fog lamps earlier. Since the price listed in the file is much lesser, I thought maybe they have revised it.

In this case, all the prices mentioned in the file would be way off from reality?
However, the USB cable price is more or less what people have reported here.

Check with Talera ford also. South City Ford in Noida has it for 3K plus a very small labor charge.

4.5K is for the EXI/ZXI version. For titanium version, its 3.5K. All prices are including installation. For EXI/ZXI, they need to install the wiring as well. But for titanium, its pre-wired. Hence the difference in price. Atleast thats what the sales person told me here. I got it for 3.5K.

askids, jayded, Thanks!

I got my second servicing done from Planet Ford, Pune. I did not find much of a difference after the second servicing. I was expecting the gear shifts to be a little harder(with a lesser throw), with some clutch adjustments, etc. Did not find any specific difference at all. I asked the SA was there any engine tuning done, he said no, there is no need. He said we dont even lubricate the gear shift cable unless there is a request. I wonder what exactly they did apart from oil change, tyre rotation, balancing and alignment.

It looks though that all squeaking sounds have gone, (need to heck for a longer duration though), the grrrr noise after braking at low speeds has reduced a lot (it was horrifying before), but its not gone completely, I still hear it sometimes but noise is reduced.

Also, I did the 3M polish on the dashboard and seats, I liked it, everything looks pretty clean now and hope that polish lasts long.

Can someone share the experience of second servicing and the essentials at second service?

here is a pic of the sports alloy from ford. Not something i like.

Selfdrive,
Go for the TDCI. It is great to drive with good torque and the Turbo spools up real quickly. Moreover with the situation in middle east being what it is the price of petrol will keep rising. My TDCI gives me approx 17 kpl in city driving. It is good value for money.

^Thank you for this. The pricing is very reasonable.
Q: Does "Leather Vinyl seat covers" mean Leather seat covers? Or does it mean artificial leather seat covers?

These are artificial leather seat covers. I had a look at them & decided to give them a pass . Will go in for Stanley seats like my SX4 when the finances are a little better.
