The first step in solving a problem is in accepting that there is a problem. However, Ford and their dealers prefer denial. These issues have been brought to their notice in their Facebook page, discussed in this forum but Ford simply refuses the existence of a problem. I also suspect that their service centers are not reporting correctly to the company. RGK, in an earlier post said about a dealer meet where ground clearance was the most pertinent point discussed. It is understandable that a product can have problems, but the company's approach is burning a lot of bridges. Ford has a excellent product,excellent price and phenomenal success in its hands.I hope it does not fritter away the success on these niggles and go the Fiat way.
Fiesta classic has the same dash. I wonder if those also have squeaks. I hope the new Fiesta has better QC.

If you have insurance claims, then the company and dealer can settle the claims themselves provided you have paid your part of the claim. The settlement can continue even after your car goes out of the workshop. If you don't have cashless, in all probability, you have to make full payment first to the dealer and then claim the amount from the insurance company.

OK, now what DID they say?
My car too face the odd squeaks and rattles. Playing the audio a little loud help the cause. There is no permanent solution for these niggles as of now I guess. Plus the brake caliper shuddering noise is also slowly making it's way back into my car. Will be taking my car in for the 10K service this weekend.

What a day ! I still feel drained out. I reached there at 10AM and complained about the rear side noise, The dealership guys took a TD of my car and started fixing it.
They blame the noise on the rear seat alignment latch. This is something I do not get.
They played with this for a while and tell me noise is fixed. We go for a TD most of a squeaks are gone but there is still a thud-thud noise when the car goes over a speed breaker or takes a sharp turn.
Now the wait for ""FORD ENGINERS"" start they had taken vinboys car for a long TD and we had to wait until 5PM. Finally they come back and take my car for a small spin and tell me the same thing, Back seat latch alignment.
Couple of techs from the dealership start working on my car removing the rear left side plastic cladding.
During this they also open the front right door to grease the power window with some special thick grease or something. They were unwilling to explain what was so special about this grease so I left it.
They were still fixing Vinboys car, I could see they removed the cars airbag unit and were trying to locate the source of the rattle in the dashboard.
My car is ready and I leave but the thud thud noise still persists.
I don't think this can be fixed. The boys at the dealership did their best trying to find the source but they couldn't locate it.
No way I want to go back and waste my time and theirs if they cant fix this. I need to learn to live with this.
While they were wroking on my car had a small chat with the Ford Techs I casually ask if they are aware about the problem faced by some diesel figo owners.

The techboys and the dealer mechs didn't understand and wanted me to explain it to them again. Finally when they understood, they tell me its because you are not driving properly. I take a deep breath and tell them my car does not have this problem and its only with figo diesel cars.
They immediately jump to the conclusion that its driver error and told me to tell the owners of the car to driver properly and down shift at the proper time. :Frustrati
One of them went on to say that they have specially trained people looking into the cars and they never had such problems so the problem is because of driver error. I told them this is isn't a case with just 1-2 cars but several owners have reported this problem. He asked me where you heard about this. Tell him teambhp.
He went on to say and I quote "" What is your team bhp? its just like orkut or facebook. People can post whatever they want don't believe everything you read there ""
I did not know how to respond to his comment and just smiled at him.
To add insult to injury
Finally when I thanked them for all that they had done one of them said and I quote him again " final word of advice please dont read so much bhp"" your problem will only increase..
All this while looking at the team-bhp sticker on my rear windshield. :deadhorse

Yes. Noises have becoming a trademark of Figos which is not a good sign.

Eagerly waiting for the response given to captain
Small consolidation of common complaints in the Figo TDCi.
1. Squeaks - Rear, C Pillar
2. Brake pad noises
3. Rear windows roll down automatically
4. Speed Sensor problems reported causing Engine stalling
5. ECU problems reported - car not crossing 20kph
6. GC
Please add if anything missed out.
These are not completely eradicated by Ford. Heard that the rate of complaints are generally more for a newer car. Why Ford cant put a "service mela" atleast in major cities by having a complete technical team and solve once for all.

The main reason why they are unaware of this issue is due to the fact that most drivers believe it's their own mistake/driving style that has caused the car to stall. Only over a period of time as the complaining customers increase would they finally admit it.

He is right on that part, the more you are on tbhp, the more you understand the problems and hence start realizing that you have them in your car as wellstupid:
Yesterday I went back to Metro Ford to check and take my car back! but the entire day went in finding out the source of the issue. The ford people had told that it was the seat latch hence the Metro Ford guys replaced the old latches with new ones.
We finally went on a test drive along with the GM - Customer service of Metro Ford. We went out of the normal test drive roads and went to Lingarajpuram area. There all the rattles re appeared. The only consolation was the the groaning noise which used to come from the rear seat had more or less gone but the rear thud noise and the dash board noise was still present. :Frustrati
We took a detour and went to Metro Ford service at Lingarajapuram and I left the car there for further checking. Finally they said that there is a problem and started removing all the rear suspensions, tail lamp cluster etc and check.
I have no idea when will the problem be solved and get my car back!!! If they are able to solve the problems then others can replicate the repairs ...
Guys - any recommendation for which (if any) sunfilm to use on a sea gray Figo?
My needs:
Car will be mostly in Hyderabad and sometimes driven to Mysore. I have covered parking in most places, but weekend parking may be outside - not a major factor though.
Main problem is heat while travelling - AC can barely make it tolerable right now, and I would rather spend the money on film than on diesel.
So considering the requirements above and the legal requirements, what are the recommendations and how much poorer should I expect to get?
Another question: There is a narrow underpass on my way to work that gets flooded in rains - there is very high amount of traffic too, with Hyderabadi instincts, so stalling (while saving some bikers' ***) is a real possiblity.
What is the max depth of water that can be safely negotiated in the Figo?

I used 3M sunfilm. Its quite heat resistant and within the legal norms. they give a warranty and also a certificate of being within the prescribed norms. You can expect to get a hole as big as 7.5 K in your pocket to get a good sunfilm for the side & rear + front wind screens
As per good driving sense, you should not enter any kind of water logged patches if you cannot see the bottom of it. There are threads in TBhp which details of driving tips during monsoons. Please search along and you would only be happier that you did so. However, not withstanding the normal driving sense, I dont think that Figo would stall mid way if you are trying to negotiate acceptable stretches of logged water. There is a complete frame fitted on the bottom to prevent such scenarios and under body scraping in Figo. But still if you go ahead and keep the car at a stand still in a water logged mess, the result is anybody's guess

Looks like I will have to look for a reliable mechanic. Ford A.S.S only for scheduled service and warranty jobs. Also I suppose I will have to live with squeaks and rattles!

Hyderabad guys would probably know what I'm talking about - there is a railway line and an underpass right next to HiTech city station, they have been constructing a flyover for several years now.
Anyway, it is usually pretty easy to figure out how deep the wate is in that stretch - there is so much traffic. Also most of the time water is very clear, so road can be seen very clearly.
still, I have seen many motorcycles (and some M800s) stall in that area.
Coming to the point - is 6inches of water safe to negotiate in a Figo? 10inches?

Oh back to square one again vinboy :Frustrati Hope they put back the car properly after ripping it apart. You wont get the factory fit and finish once they tear down everything. I hope the rattling doesn't becomes worse after all this.
Im not sure if the sound is from the suspension, The sound seems to be coming from the plastic around the back seat something there is a bit lose.
Are you getting your car back today ?

The A.S.S is willing to help and can do a good job provided they figure out the problem. In our cars they can not locate the source of the rattle.
I was driving my uncles Civic today which is 3 years old and even now it doesnt rattle at all! The engine is dead silent :eek: Engineering perfection.

Well today they have completely removed the dashboard and all the plastic parts near it!! I did not wait there for long and hopefully this evening I should get my car back.
But all this has destroyed the feeling and pleasure of a new car!! I have also made up my mind to avoid Ford cars as much as possible! I would no desist from spreading my experience with all my friends.....

I agree with you. Hyderabad is one mess of a traffic. Though i have not experienced it during rains, i was un fortunate enough to get entangled inside the jalebi like and un predictable roads of hyderabad for three weeks. However, as per the safe depths which can be negotiated, i am not worthy enough to exactly put a scale to it.
May be Mustang or more experienced Ford specialists can shed some light on it. Mustang, anything to add??

:D well how about putting a tire (rather than scale) to it? can a car in general negotiate water flooding to the center of its wheels safely?
