I could not experience road noise as the road was bad and drive was short.

No sign of vibration at all. Car was very smooth.
I've heard people calling it as noisy in the Fabia. There was also a discussion on how a 3-Cyl engine is less refined than a 4-Cyl.

Anyways, thanks for sharing the report. Great scoop!

Congratulation Sushant for being the first Test Driver of Team BHP. I saw this thread in Indian Car Scene Section and when I saw the heading of it in this section I thought it was someone else (Read GTO)

i scrolled through the images at post number 18 many times. Once this car looks good again i scroll and it looks boring. any one having similar thought!

Is VW badge playing a trick here? is car looking good because of VW badge.
I am trying to imagine this with a TATA,Suzuki or Hyundai badge!

Dickey opener is cool! Hope road side monogram stealers wont try to steal it and damaging the setup!

But steering isnt impressive. looks like Tata 207 steering :(

Nice huge boot. over all looks good!

Test drive on NDTV Profit

i saw the TD of this car on The Car and Bike show on NDTV Profit yesterday. Here is what he said:
- Amazing drivability
- Really good handling
- didnt really speak about the space and all
- Best quality plastics in its segment(guessing it is in the Swift/Punto segment)
- Didnt mention much about the engine sound
- Overall they say its a killer car if priced right(and by right he means the Punto range and not the JAZZ range

Personally i cant wait for the 1.6 to come. After these initial reviews i think my decision to wait for Polo was worth it...though i still think Ford could have bettered it if they had the 1.6 duratec version of the Figo...THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING

+1.
I think families / kids will find excessive engine noise irritating.
But, i think even the Euro-spec Polo has louder-than-normal noise. There are some Youtube videos of Polo that highlight this noise as sweeettt..!

I think it looks a decent family car. It will never age.

+1 to what you felt.
This car lacks the Character. It will not catch anyones attention when you drive it around.

I at least hope the performance and the engine options are good!

funny gear placement. Something that may happen initially- people waiting at a red light engaging "R" instead of "1" after the light turns green.

For engaging reverse you need to push down Gear Knob and then slot like first gear. There are no chances that you will engage reverse by accident.
