My new Scorpio MHawk SLE

Hi Guys,

Finally i have bought my Scorpio MHawk SLE - Veronica ( i have named her that)

I am taking the liberty to share the process and experience, in brief :

1) PreBuy - Well there was no research on what to buy, just that a little pros and cons on SLE and Vlx. Finally SLE won hands down, value for money, same engine, only cosmetic changes, so got SLE)

Also since i belong to Ludhiana, Punjab, i decided to purchase the vehicle from there itself, for a couple of reasons :
- I had to buy a Scorpio from Punjab, A mighty muscular like Scorpio has to be with a PB license plate.i know not very subtle, very illogically punjabi , but couldnt avoid.
- It turned out to be a little cheaper, got registration and insurance done on my own
- Got finance done in a jiffy from SBI at a very low rate

2) Booked the SLE Rocky Beige 8-Seater at Modern Motors, Ludhiana on 22nd Jan, with delivery commitment in first week of Feb.
Got the delivery on 1st Feb,without a hitch.

3 ) Free Accessories - 1) Floor Mats - carpet type
2) Scuff Plates
3) Vehicle Cover
4) 2 yrs + 2 yrs extended warranty (under currently running scheme

Purchased Accesories - Bull Guard - Rs.6500 for both rear and front ones.

Shall be posting some snaps of Veronica :

Also it would be great if any one can suggest me on the following :

1) Music System - my music of choice is Rock, soft Rock, Metal, Trance etc.
I have been thinking about Headset - Pioneer (with USB and IPod conncetivity), Speakers - JBL (both rear and front) with dampening of course and tweeters.
I am not to keen on Amp and Sub Woofer (not very keen on loud noise outside vehicle, just need brilliant sound fo rmyself in the car only). Pls suggest.

2) Seats - Leather or fabric (no third choice)

3) Gear Lock or Steering Lock (i guess i need one driving in Delhi)

So, guys, feeling thrilled to be anowner of Mighty Muscular and part of this community of like minded people.

hi copperhead, first of all, hearty congratulations.

regarding the music system, T-BHP has its own ICE section-
In-Car Entertainment - Team-BHP

post your query there, you will get expert reviews.

seats- leather is stylish but not practical for our climate. fabric is practical but not stylish. your call...

i would prefer a gear lock but both can be easily broken by smart thieves.

A Mighty Muscular PB Registered Scorpio called Veronica
Please change the name.

A Scorpio called "She"?? My smiley quota is over else I would have added the shocked quote here as well

Veeru sounds more apt, unless you have a thing for Veronica.

Veronica with a Bullbar, OMG, I need more smileys ROTFL....!!!! Please change the name.
Mighty Muscular Veronica....!!! You get the drift right, now lets move on to business,

Going by the extreme Delhi weather, go for fabric seat covers of your choice. They are comfortable, easy to wash, cheaper, and are best suited for our weather conditions.

And yes, please post some pictures of Veeru, not Veronica...

nice colour.

the sunshade on the rear glass looks great but i would have just liked the mahindra logo & scorpio written over it!

IMO, the rear guard is spoiling the looks of your car.

+1 to that but that rear guard is actually a bumper saver with all those nosy Indicas and autos around. Just that it looks horrendous.

And how much did that front bumper cost you?

@Dev , I think he mentioned in the post. It costed him 6.5K including front and rear. I think front one cost around 4.5K with dealers

Copper,

Congrats on your new buy.

Your Veronica is sparkling in Rockybeinge (oilive green) colour. Side and front view of Scorpio is really great.

Those non-rubber covered nudge guards wont Rust in our Indian weather?

Welcome to the Scorpio, your vehicle is a powerful vehicle. Please drive it carefully! That's what Veronica would have said every time you entered the car. But it's a male voice, so it can't be Veronica, it's probably Reggie or Jughead.

Do post your buying decisions and other experiences. I'm on a look out for a good ICE myself. I'm still struggling to get some good advise from the ICE gurus. It must be because my specs are a little different. All the best!

Badshao,

Congrats on your machine.

I was just comparing the LX,SLE and VLX today and found that the SLE is the perfect tradeoff between features and cost.

Nice colour as well;enjoy your ride

Hey Copperhead,

Congratulations on your new machine.

Does anybody know if we can order an SLE with 4x4? Would be a good VFM vehicle.
