congrats on the first K-Series engine Swift ownership report on TBHP. We are waiting to see its FE and to some extent pickup (though not sure if it will be noticeable).

Rajit, In the first set of photos I saw the steering wheel to be turned almost 90 degree. Was it just for the snaps or do you usually park in that way?. AFAIK 90% of people don't park in that way or with the tyres turned. Just an info. By the way almost forgot to congratulate you. Good one. Can some one let everyone know what is the main difference between the K series and older engines

Hi Ranjit,

I have taken the delivery of the car on the 12th of this month. I measured the avg. of the car it is 10kmpl, measured by full tank method. This is in hardcore gear 1 and 2 driving in Mumbai traffic.

What has your experience been regarding the mileage?

Thanks.

hey,

10 kmpl, thts pretty low. but i guess after the first servcing and more running it may improve. please keep us posted on your K series driving experience and any high way runs. By any means do you find the car under powered? My friend test drove it and told me he didnt the performance compared to his previous ZXi. He is a die hard fan of swift. Wanted to upgrade from previous to K series.

Plan dropped

Guys, I m getting 14kmpl in city.

I am not quoting these figures for ridiculous bumper to bumper traffic that we encounter in metros but general city driving.

Congrats on you new K Series Swift.

OT: When can we expect GTO style review of K Series Swift VXI?

The earlier review of Swift is very short and not worthy of the car. Nothing to take away from reviewer but Swift deserves a lot more IMHO.

Ranjit, thats a nice colour you got there, my favourite colour in the Swift.

Is your 14kmpl in the city with 100% AC ?

Hey Ranjit congrats on your new possession!

Although there is a major change in terms of an Engine, i can barely notice any change in interiors from my Swift which was bought way back in July 2005. In a new world order where cars and models are being constantly upgraded maruti has held itself from making too many changes to the SWIFT, its starting to look drab ! Not sure if this is strategy, reluctance or laziness.

As they say, why fix something that aint broke ? :-)

But I agree, even the I20 which was introduced after some time underwent some changes.

Update on Fuel Economy, I get 14 with AC always on 1 setting (since I do not require stronger cooling in Bangalore).

So far no problems with the car, performing well for the last 3 months.
