Review: My new Chevrolet Beat

I wont say much here. Let the pictures do the talking. By the way, the car is awesome. I already did 100+ kms today and am hungry for more.

I am thoroughly satisfied with the car. Took my cousins and relatives for a joy ride, total of 5 people and the car pulls awesomely on slopes (Mangalore is notorious for slopy, curvy and potholed roads). Am a bit tired since was out all day but here are the pics. More to come soon.

Note: I recommend this car to every hatchback buyer! Its value for money! Take my word for it!

Congrats alstonlobo,
The car looks stunningly good. The light colored beat are looking richer.

Planning on any accessories?
BTW what did you get from the dealer?

congrats alstonlobo! After checking the beat website I can confirm that you've chosen the best colour! He (definitely a male car ) looks really cool!

btw, did you take the option pack?

Also, some rims and wider tires are in order

Thanks a lot redlaw, anekho and salbin!

The total on road cost came upto 4.8Lakh. The accesories I got fitted from the dealer were sunfilm for Rs. 1500 (50% visibility) and GM's keyless entry for Rs. 4500.

The floor mats and mudflaps were thrown in for free. The car also comes with the customary Chevy teddy bear and a leather padded keychain.

@anekho: mine is the LT and not the option pack. Planning on putting alloys later this year since roads are under construction in my city and the rains will be approaching next month.

The colour is really stunning! It does look bland in the showroom, but take it on the road and it shines like a jewel. I was a little apprehensive about the colour when I booked the car but now I have no regrets at all!

Could you throw some light on the cost split-up?
The amount you paid is post budget price?
Great to know that you got floor mats and mud flaps free.
Here in bangalore, they are not giving anything free.

@alstonlobo:
Some dealers are charging Rs.1600 in the package towards standard fitments and are giving mudflaps and floor mats for free. So did they do the same thing to you. Please give your price break-up.

The keyless entry @ 4500 seems to be a bit on the higher side.. since I paid around Rs 2850 for it. Yours may be a better one though. And hey, congrats on getting freebies! Dealers here are giving nothing at all - not even a car-perfume

Also, I was promised by the dealer that I'd get a Chevrolet music CD compilation of Bollywood hits as soon as its in stock. I have to call him up and bug him about that!

Alston,
How the rear door handles are? Comfortable in use or comfort paid to get style?

congratulations

great deal Alstonlobo, I do agree that dealers here dont give any thing for free. I paid for Floormatts, though the complete price was 4.8 & date of delivery was 21st feb. The car looks great.

I went to check out Beat to Cropex on hosur raod. Sales man was knowledgeable. He explained the car in details.

Somehow did not like those flashy tacho and Speedo console!.

It seems the shor room is selling around 150 cars a month!

The LT (O) model with Airbag ABS isn’t out yet! is it true? they advised it will take at least 3 months for Air bag/ABS to be available!

@alstonlobo,

How was dealership experience at Chevy @ Mangalore?
