Any idea of how much a routine service of a 530D costs?

How many people would rather buy this near 50k driven, V8 monster for around the same price as a brand new A4?

Its been 4 months since my A4 was ordered and since it is now delayed till April , I am seriously contemplating alternate options - and this option is worth seriously contemplating!

However, I have never bought a Used Car and always have felt a mind block towards the same - your opinions?

It does depend on the person. As Sid rightly pointed out, in an era where purity is fast vanishing, this is the perfect time to enjoy a naturally aspirated beauty before their time is over. It will cost a bomb to maintain and even more to pay for your fuel bills but as an experience, I feel it is unmatched.

There are more practical options and ultimately it is mind vs heart. I would go for it provided I had the cash although I feel it is a bit overpriced. Something around 25-27 would really hit the sweet spot.

I don't buy that. Even if the tank capacity is 7 liters, that's 7,000 rupees tops (at MRP of Rs. 1,000 per liter). Throw in another 2 - 4 grand for the oil filter.

Major Merc services also run upto 35K, but they include oil changes, air-con filters, brake pads and the like. If BMW charged you 35K for a service, put up the invoice here. It's got to include other jobs.

GTO, I pay Zilch for my Beemer's, because both have the BSI packages for 5 years.

A friend was charged Rs. 35k for an oil change on his 530d, last year.

I pay around $80-85 for a synthetic oil/filter change for my BMW which is also a 3.2 liter six. This includes resetting the ECU for oil chg warning.

Why on earth would anyone pay 10 times more.

Ecclipse, please clarify with your friend on what services were performed for 35K. Or better yet, post a scanned copy of his invoice. It is IMPOSSIBLE that BMW will charge 35k just for an oil change. Again, the major services of Merc & BMW do touch 35K; however, they include other parts & services too (not just oil changes).

There was a 2003 BMW 7 series ( petrol ) and other cars also for sale at the Saudi Arabian embassy alongwith the Nissan X-trail which i had bought. The embassy folks asked me i was willing to buy one of the other cars. Not sure if these cars are still available.

GTO, just double-checked myself with the BMW service advisor today.

They charge 25K - for an oil change. He mentioned that close to 8 lts are consumed.
