Rajesh, Would you be interested to get a front sun film too? Would do wonders for your car especially with the LARGE front windscreen and the hot area you are in. Check with JKDas who is from TVM and has a Safari. For less then 3K you can get garware...

(PS - what color is your friends nano?)

Frankly, no. I let myself indulge for the 'shortlived with me' Viva CRDi, and was not happy with it for night driving, though there was not even a hint of it visible for naked eye.

Some random snaps

Hi,

The AC controls when I am alone driving (even at the hottest weather):

The maximum average that has been displayed so far:

The maximum was just before the Aroor toll and then about 5 kms later at Concorde it had gone down to 21.2!

Did think about a FIAT key chain for the Manza, but expensive!

Have seen the same at Kulatungal, Trivandrum too:

The service advisor found this when he was checking the car.

The last fuel fill was at 1610 kms and that gave a 16.26 kpl figure, the overall fuel efficiency is hovering at 15.74 kpl.

Hi,

I got my first service on the 9th of April with an odometer reading of 1210km.

Oil level check before leaving for service:

Job card:
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-manza1stservicejobcard09042010_medium.jpg
The complaint was for a passenger side wiper which was not cleaning properly and also was swiping irregularly. The rubber part was visibly contorted in part.

I also pointed out this:
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...995_medium.jpg

Going in for service:
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_029_medium.jpg

The bill:
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-manza1stserviceinvoice09042010_medium.jpg
The passenger side wiper was changed under warranty.

The car parked after service for delivery:
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_189_medium.jpg

The pillar damage needed a part change and was not done as that part was not available.

I have given the service full marks although the delivery was delayed a bit from the promised time. The car was taken in at 08.35AM and delivered at 05.15PM. I am sure that for a first service, the time taken was a lot more than necessary.

The bottleneck apparently is the wash part (Honda also used to have the same trouble) with all the cars for service as well as for delivery.

Let us see how it is for the 2nd service.

I give full marks for the service advisor for not even trying the 'top up' of engine oil (hence the check up in the morning) as I had not mentioned that I had checked the level.

The alloy looks like that of the Palio. Is the Vista anniversary still on sale?

trrk,

It was great to meet you there at Concorde, the chat we had gave us a lot of learning and was comforting for my friend Vijay since he was a little tensed about the delivery.

We got the vehicle delivered at about 7pm. We drove to Bangalore on Sunday. The drive was pleasant and wasn't tiring at all. The 1st service was done at Concorde, Mysore Road yesterday. Planning to do the return journey tonight.

Wishing you happy miles on the Manza. Hope to bump in to you sometime again

Hi,

I got alloys fitted.

My imaginary alloy was what was shown on the Golden Manza in the brochure

My first choice (sorry, no photo) of a Plati alloy did not work out as the front brake caliper was fouling with the disc. This was similar to the brochure one, but was silver and black.

So suitable alloys were procured and I went in for selection and fitting.

These wer the two initially selected:
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_274_medium.jpg
The Plati ones were my selection. The Apollos were specifically procured for Manza. Out of 3 designs, I chose this for trial.

The first one (though marked 100 - 108, was not 108, sadly. The Apollo was a god fit. But somehow did not like it completely. I wanted a multi spoke silver black combination.

We again went to the 2nd floor and then we found this tucked in a corner:
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_446_medium.jpg
I liked it and it did not foul with the brake caliper. The dished centre did the magic.

Got them fitted:
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_473_medium.jpg
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_475_medium.jpg
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_479_medium.jpg
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_480_medium.jpg
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_570_medium.jpg
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-image_733_medium.jpg

The details:

Plati PY 140 15" 8H 100-108 FMBK

4 nos. - 16800
Steel valves - 400
Locking nuts - 1800
Wheel Spanner - 450
Balancing (4 nos) - 500
Wheel alignment - 350

That totals to Rs 20300.00

It is Pitstop, Ernakulam. I never bargain. The only allowance that I got without asking was that tyre fitting charges were waived. Those locking nuts definitely are expensive, hope they are worth it.

I am still unsure about whether the wheel alignment was really needed. They insisted on balancing all the 4 wheels, though those rear wheels will never see the front axle as per my scheme of things.

The wheel alignment report:
Tata Indigo Manza Quadrajet Aura Plus - Monarch Red-manzawheelalignmentbharathtyres1706_medium.jpg

Could somebody knowledgeable decipher that alignment report and tell me if it is OK?

Drive wise it is fine.

My driver had only one question: could you not find a better design? Hmmmm.

My personal opinion is that I love the alloys. I think the large number of spokes take the "visual weight" off the Manza's design. I still think that the Manza too was under-tired and an alloy with thicker and fewer spokes woudl enhance the "top heaviness".
I know that the terms used wouldn't be found in any book or dictionary, but in summary, I love this design, well done. What I liked even more was the service experience and how you took care of the engine oil level before service. It's good to see that Concorde was honest about the whole of the First Service.

They are indeed Palio alloys, the GTX ones! Even I was surprised at that anniversary edition. If I remember correctly, the VIN was of a January 2010 make!

The pleasure was indeed mine! If it helped Vijay, it made my day!

That is nice to hear. I also completed ny first service and starting from 19th, my car would be doing 1800+ km in a week.

Thanks and thanks. I wanted a thinner spoke and more number of spokes in the alloys, but they may not have been so visually arresting!

The slight curves and with aternate spokes not reaching the centre somwhow pull your attention and while running they look stunning.

Lucky to have got this design!

I do that engine oil check for every car before service. When a air filter change is due, I even check that before service. Better to be careful and you will know whether they indeed need changing or that they have been changed.

This time I did want to see whether they would pop a oil topup on me and glad they did not. They did not even add a washer top up. Surprising! Honesty or was it a request that any thing which adds amount to the bill was to be confirmed before going ahead?

I gave the service advisor a 10 with a rider that I would be more critical next time.

The alloys suit the red shape perfectly. The alloys has definitely enhanced the looks of the car.

By the did you get the tires are changed as well or the same stock tires still on?

Nice Alloys you have got there.
IMHO your Manza looks like a much more expensive sedan in the 3rd last picture than it really is.(the one with an i10 in the background.)

I took these pix of trrk ( but was late to show him). I saw the trrk's car two weeks back and like the alloy design. It make helps fill the wheel arch and hence took bigger and wider.

Thanks. I was about to be palmed off a set of more expensive less impressive Apollo alloys. This was found in a different corner though this was ordered specifically for me. I was initially shown only the Apollos.

Thanks and I totally agree with you. Those alloys stand out in the day or night.

They are stock tyres. I generally don't change tyres and use the OEM ones.

Thanks. There is a Scorpio too in the background. The credit goes to Tata for making such a lovely car.

Thanks. I would not have gone for that design, anyway. But I am still at a loss as to why Concorde is not interested in selling me the OEM alloys that are oon offer in Concorde, Chennai!

Thanks. I definitely have seen much better and informative threads, but I try to squueze in as much of details as possible.

The AC worked magnificently well in the hotter Tamil Nadu regions.

Though I am not sure of the accuracy of the Manza outside temperature guage, it did show a maximum of 42 degree Centigrade during the run.

I really wished it shows the inside temperature too!
