Re: My First Car, Ritz VDI

Hi

Just took a look at your 6k bill

Is there a requirement to change the exchange or fuel filter so soon? we'll have to check with Jaggu on the same.

Oil filter is fine, but paying 250 for just cleaning an exsiting air filter is a waste, we might as well buy a new one at 400 or 450.

Charging 412 for coolant is another big way of cheating consumers, i'm sure we get it for cheaper price outside

Rs832 for a gear oil 75W90, again this can be purchased for 600 outside.
And 813 for 3 litre engine oil is again not the right thing to do, considering maruti uses servo oil which isnt the best or good either.
Spending a little extra and buying Mobil DelvacMX for 280RS per litre is justified.

Cheers

Mobil Delvac MX is available with many Oil merchants across Bangalore, even if they dont have it in stock if you give them 2 days notice they will get it for you.

Mobil DelvacMX you dont need to bother changing for 10000km for sure, some people have used DelvacMX for 13000 too without any problems.

Your 3rd(10k) service bill seems to the higher side, was there any thing extra stuff that you had asked them to take care off.
For me i guess it was around 1.3k
Also what was the 15k service, Maruti doesn't have any 15K service as such .

Also i dont see the details of the 1st and 2nd service.

For me i change the engine oil and filter every 5k, so for 15k also did the same, but my bill was around 1.4k, but your seems to less so wanted to confirm.

Cheers

New alloys and tyres for my Ritzy

I was running stock JK tyres for the last 23k kms and I was thinking about changing them the moment I did my 20k service.

One fine day I decided, enough is enough and I need to change the tyres ASAP.

I was already using NEO 14* 5.5J alloys with the stock tyres.

I have been thinking about upgrading to 15'' from the day I got the car and thought this is best time to get those.

But as there are not many people using 195*60*15 on Ritz, so was not able to get proper feedback on the same.

So decided to check with sridhar_setty, who owns a Ritz VXi and is using 195*60*15.

After discussing with Sridhar, decided to switch to 195*60*15.

So thought of first selling my present NEO alloys and then do the upgrade.

Posted the same in TBHP classifieds and immediate got a couple of reply on the same.

Finalized a deal with a fellow BHPIAN, who paid a token amount for booking the same.

As I was still using the alloys asked him for a day, so that I can get the new alloys/tyres and hand over the alloys to him.

Next morning got up with a slight fever, so was not if I can hand over the alloys to him today as promised earlier.

Sent a sms to him informing the same, and he was ok with it.

But still a promise is a promise, so took a day off from office and started the hunt for alloys.
Finally after searching the whole day, picked up a 15 *6.5 J alloys from the JUNCTION in Jayanagar 4th block.

Came back home, and was kind of feeling better , so took a hot water bath , had lunch and drove straight to the 4th block to pick up the alloys.

On my way to pick up the alloys called up Madhu's and informed them to keep a slot booked for tyre change.

Picked the alloys and drove to Madhu, over there after checking the available tyres, I decided to go with MRF ZLO.

Within 45 minutes, the new tyres were mounted on the new alloys, old tyres were removed from the old alloys, balancing/alignment and the new set fitted on to the car.
Great work by Madhus

In meantime got a message from the person who was buying the old alloys that, he will leave early today so he will not be able to pick up the alloys today.

So picked up the old alloys and came back home.

Here are some the picture of the old alloys: - Fitted on the car and few cleaned before handing them over to its new owner.

New AVA alloys and ZLO tyres:-

After changing to new tyres, the braking and handing is simply superb compared to the stock JK tyres, and this is expected i guess .

But to my surprise the ride quality is also superb.

Sridhar told me that the ride quality could be abit of the stiffer side , but i found it to be actually better then the stock JK tyres .

May be because i m used to 36/33 on JK and on these new tyres, was using 30 PSI .

Also i think a DDIS heart helps as the car is slight heavier than its K12 counterpart .

Also regarding the FE, i dont think there is much change .
On highway got 19+ kmpl and in the city im not exactly sure as i have still not completed a tank full , but i guess it will be around 15 + .

I will confirm the same within next week when i refill .

Also with these bigger tyres , the car get dirty pretty soon , so planning to change the front MGA mud flaps and get hose rubber ones which some Ritz owner got from their dealer when they got the car.

Cheers.

Congrats on the Alloys and the new set of tires!

Can you please put up the cost for the alloys as well as the tires?

Have you kept the spare tire stock or changed that too? I mean steel rimmed!

Awsome looking alloys ,SC.But the car will be even more appealing when you remove those rear rubber beedings and excess of stickers from the car. Also ,get the car polished. The rear spoiler also looks nice

Re: My First Car, Ritz VDI

Very good looking alloys

Why MRF ZLO and not yoko or Michelin?

Also why didnt you opt for 185/70 R14, not much difference between 185 and 195.

Michelin were very costly .
And i was looking for soft compound tyres, so went with ZLO's . Till date have covered more than 1k kms on these new tires and im completely satisfied with them.
i have upsized to 15'' .

Guys , i need some advise.
Off late im noticing that whenever i switch on the A/C i get a strange smell of dust and all , as if i can smell whats outside my car .

And also when i switch off the A/C after running for sometime and keep only the blower running , get a very bad smell.
Could any suggest what could be the issue .

Its not the case if i switch on the blower .

But only when the A/C is switched on and off.

Please advise .

I am reffering to the LCLC stickers in the front and the TBHP stickers at the back.
About the aircon issue ,you must have set it in the recirculation .I have encircled it in the picture.

Thanks .
Its a MGA one which i got when i got the car .
But its not stitched properly, otherwise its of good quality.
If you plan to get it,make sure its properly stitched.
One of the friend has a black one in his car and it looks great on his car.

Hope it helps .
