Great DIY smoking. The next thing to do is do is debadging your ride for a clean look and some carbon fiber vinyl on the ORVMs .They will make your ride super cool. What about tire upgrade?

Salbin. The smoked effect is amazing. And the car looks splendid. Do post pics of how it looks at night, as it seems it is a bit too dark at this point. But awesome none the less. The Best Beat on the Forum so far (till i do mine up ;-))

OT. My first post via the new app I downloaded for apple yesterday

Carbon fiber vinyl and debadging are already there in my wish list.
Tyre upgrade.. not now.

Nice smoking effect, Salbin. I appreciate your enthusiasm. Just one question, what is the clear coat meant for? ( pardon my ignorance ).
Please post pics with the lights on, to get a better feel.
While on the topic, I feel GM India should come up with more accessories for the Beat, like LED tail lamps, DLRs, navigation systems, to name a few. These accessories would certainly compliment the sporty looks of the car.

Clear coat is a transparent protective layer of paint used to protect the colour paint below.

Looks great Salbin! Looks pitch black, but yet allows good amount of light through. Minimal loss of light, unlike many wrongly smoked tail lamps.

Wow! What a drastic transformation, top notch job indeed. Initially, after seeing the first set of pics, i was skeptical about the amount of light the paint coat would allow to be transmitted.
I've been quoted Rs.1.9k for smoking the tails lamps and i'm very eager to get it done, more so after seeing the outcome here. Do you think the quote is fair? Also do update if you manage to get hold of better quality(stretchable) carbon fiber look alike vinyl sheets.

VHT Nite Shade is made specifically for tail lamp/head lamp smoking purpose.
VHT Nite-Shades™
It allows more light to pass through when compared to smoked lamps with normal black paint.
There is another method to do this -ie. using tinted films.
The disadvantage with the tint film is it is prone to scratch and you will not be able to repair it, where as in this case, the clear coat forms a really hard protective layer and that can be re-worked with sanding/rubbing compound/polish and waxed to get better finish.
@mi2n: Check what method they are offering. If it is normal black paint, the light transmission will get reduced and the raw material cost will be less than 500 only(my Du-pont clear coat costed me ~200 for 100ml and paid 150 to the painter).
There are clear coat aerosol sprays available in ebay.in(I located it only after finishing the work). But Du-pont is a superior product and the quality will be good.
Regarding carbon fiber vinyls, please keep me also posted in case if you manege to get some good quality ones.

It is not too dark as it looks like.
I am yet to check the reverse light in the night.
Will try to post some pics with the reverse lights and brake lights on.

BTW I received the DRLs just now. But feeling lazy to install it.
Yes, I have seen that red Beat in Cochin, but personally I don't like smoking the lights as it will severely affect the visibility and there by the compromising on safety. Some times it can be a life saver if you preserve it as stock IMHO.

BTW, I just love the DRLs you've bought, surely it will be an eye candy for everyone once you light up Secure it properly, mine had an attempt of theft last week but somehow he couldn't manage it. This is why am backing off from installing Hella Aux lamp. Somewhere I read that there are some anti theft bolts to secure the aux fittings but its costly pair of bolts will cost around 1500/- which is not viable.

I am thinking of to fix a Hella Comet FF50 aux lamps in place of my fogs but not as fogs. I need more visibility on highways had enough of from these high beam riding morons This will be a powerful tool to teach them the effect of high beams.

Nice mods on the car. Beat looks cuter with the mods. Do install the DRLs and upload pics and processes.

Could you please provide details about where it was ordered and how much did it cost you including shipping if any. Does it come with any warranty? Also are they any better than the ones that you can buy in a local car accessory shop? Would this be a straight fit? Thanks in advance. I have been looking for them for my Fiesta.
