Re: Chevrolet Beat LT Cocktail Green: Initial ownership report

@ vivekm85:
It looks like the same stuff bought by me. In fact you got it for less price
Never expected the price will drop so fast!
When I bought it, the same was priced at around $28~30.

Last week I upgraded the head light bulbs to Osram Night Breaker Plus.
I got it for Rs. 1050 (MRP was 1150). There is noticeable difference in the illumination compared to the normal bulbs. It is also slightly white-ish.
I am happy with the results.

Re: Chevrolet Beat LT Cocktail Green: Initial ownership report

Hi Salbin,

Its been 9 days since the shipment has happened (22-07-2011). And so far nothing is displaying on tracking details. Just showed that the shipment happened on 22nd July. Any option for knowing the current status of the shipment and any idea who will be the freight fowarder in india for them? They are telling it is through Air mail. See the details below...

Generally if it is standard shipment, then we won't be able to track it. It is quite normal that it takes 15 to 40 days for the item to arrive. In my case it took ~25 days to get the item delivered to me. So it is better to wait for at least 2more weeks.

It depends on the total price, if the price is more than $25 IIRC, they have some tracking option, but that too little weired for me when I got mine. It took almost 2 weeks to arrive the DRLs and another purchase on the same date which was low cost LEDs took more than a month by air mail.

You can always cross check with their CC through online and they are very co operative too.

THere's another chance of detaining at the customs, when I bought a LED bulb with PIR Sensor, I got a ticket of 350/- as duty against the purchase bill of Rs. 500 approx. And it took more than a month to get it delivered due to this.

Re: Chevrolet Beat LT Cocktail Green: Initial ownership report

Guys,today I was cleaning my car.I thought to inspect the AC polen filter replaced during last service done.I opened the glove box and took out the filter cap.I noticed the filter cap was broken and somebody have applied super glue and had fitted it back.I called up the service center and they said to bring the car there and they will inspect.I will be taking the cat to trident chevrolet on saturday,let me see how things turn out.

Re: Chevrolet Beat LT Cocktail Green: Initial ownership report

Finally my consignment came to my residence in Trivandrum last day. Just got a call from my brother regarding the shipment. So while considering the days, it took 12 days to reach from Hongkong to Trivandrum. Perfect... As they are committed it will take 10 working days for receiving the shipment.

As i was in Pune, i am eager to get back to my home for installing the DLRs in my machine... I hope to see them soon by 18th or 19th of this month...

Re: Chevrolet Beat LT Cocktail Green: Initial ownership report

@vivekm85:
That is really fast!
So you got it faster at a cheaper price
Even I have ordered an item last week throuhg ebay(ELM327 bluetooth OBD scanner) and they shipped it on Aug1st from HongKong. So I can expect it to reach faster.
Pls post pics once you fix it on your ride.
@white rabbit:
Same thing happened when I removed the pollen filter cap for the first time. By mistake, I pulled it outwards instead of sideways. Luckily it did not break, just developed a crack. Sl I left it as it is.
Taken clue from your post- I will also apply quickfix next time when i remove it

That is a good news. Generally the service center people are having tendency to deny such mistakes caused by them, especially once you come back from the service center.

I am still waiting for the OBD device to arrive. It is 23 days after ordering it.

@vivekm85:
Are you back in Kerala?
Did you fixed your DRLs?

310 for a full tank.. definitely there is something wrong!
You know..My trip reading today is @480 and still 1 division remaining in the fuel gauge.
Please have a thorough check-up at GM service.
Here are some of the things to check - may sound stupid, but still have it verified to eliminate some of the probable causes of low FE.
- Have all the sensor connectors and ECU connectors cross checked for any loose connection.
- Ask them to check the FE in their own method in your presence. First before attending and later after attending to the following points. May be some of the points can be checked by yourself.
- Have a check of the ECU mapping version#. (Mine is ver#3)
- Check for any leak in the fuel line.
- Have a check of compression in each cylinder or cylinder head gasket leak.
- Maintain Tyre pressure of 32psi.
- Check for any jammed brakes.
- Check the clutch for any slipping during normal driving.
- Calibrate the odometer - there are chances of an erratic odo!
Apart from the above, try to drive at the rpm range of 1500 - 3000. Up-shift as early as possible, without straining the engine.
