Happy FIATing
The problem is i love my cars and i have owned enough cars in my life to easily tell a badly built car from a good one. I am not Fiat Fanboy, i do not wish to live with any problems i experience with my car just because its a Fiat.

Please lets not drag the ownership threads offtopic, I call a Spade a Spade, my ownership of a certain car does not make me a blind fanboy.

I had taken Sujith's Punto for a drive to Mysore over the weekend. Its awesome to be driving this Punto. My sedate driving gave an astonishing 25 kmpl. I couldnt believe my eyes

Some pics I clicked during the drive:

This Punto now shares its home with my Premier Padmini S1. I have traded Sujith's Punto with my 1991 Premier 118NE (known as earthquake for its violent music system, headers and free flow). Sujith drove my NE and fell in love with it. He wanted to use it for a while. I asked him for his 78 Padmini until my NE is returned. He said, NO WAYS and handed the key of the Punto to me. Its all mine now until EarthQuake comes home. Lets see how the Punto does in my hands.

After driving all the old cars, I need to unlearn one thing very very quickly. Looking at the fuel meter. The fuel on this Punto is not going down at all after I drove it several kilometers.

Having the Punto is altogether a different experience, especially diesel. It is low on the pocket, has very good power and torque. I could manage to drive all day in city traffic on 3rd gear. I now intend to take the Punto for one more long drive before Sujith snatches it back from me. I am thinking of going to Bandipur and returning on Saturday or Sunday. Lets see how it goes.

Hello Punters!
I have been driving Sujith1100's Punto extensively.

Here is what happened today!!! Today morning while I tried to start the car, I noticed that there is no power supply at all!

I called the 24 hrs Fiat assistance. Within 10mins of calling them, two people from Fiat Assist came and examined my car. The found out that the battery is totally dead! They used another battery and jump start cables and started the car. What they realized is that the battery was not getting charged and may be the problem is with the alternator.

Tomorrow morning the car will be towed to KHT Motors.

Wish me good luck!!! Hope Sujith1100 wont blame me for this!!!

Oh! Sorry to hear about that. It's good that the diagnosis was made quickly.
Klub_Class had a failed alternator once as well if I remember correctly.
Hope it will be resolved tomorrow itself.

Anyways, good to know about your wonderful experience with the Punto. Hope to see more.

Sad to hear that Amith too had the same problem. Infact, the Fiat Assist guys told that they have towed around 100 Puntos' so far because of Alternator problem.

Yes Yashik. Other than this problem, the car is absolutely fab. Getting a mileage of 15.2 in city with ac on.

Hello Punters!

Last night I removed the battery and charged it whole night using a battery charger. After fixing the battery, the car was working without any issues.

But still Punto, Sujith and me went to Prerana Motors for checking if there is any problem. The tech guys at Prerana checked all the electric components and convinced us the car is perfectly alright. Hope the problem doesn't persist again.

Like TATA and FIAT, Sujith and me were very happy today.

Mr. Madan Mohan- Technical head, explained us the various components and the first steps we need to take in case of a component failure.

Good to know that "All is well". Congrats to all of you.
Also, I tried opening your FCB website but couldn't. I'll give it a retry tomorrow as well.

Nice karthik,

You know last week me and Arun1100 went to TD the ARIA, i fell in love with the Punto and that too a RED Color, after leaving the workshop, i could see almost all Punto's in RED

I spotted a minimum of 4 RED Punto's. What a great stance its got, Beats any HATCHBACK in terms of looks

And that Mileage, Its a killer.

Nice car Sujit.

Nice shot Pawan. Looks great in red color in this close up shot.

Also, I saw you pic(I think it appeared on my wall bcos you tagged Karthik1100 in it) of some 3-4 Safaris lined up along with an Indica Vista on FB.
An ARIA would make a worthy addition to that photo.

Re: 1978 - Fiat 1100 || 2010 - Fiat Grande Punto Emotion MJD!

8000 kms UPDATE!

Sujith's Punto is performing extremely well. The minor niggles experienced during the initial days of ownership never returned again! Just that ground clearance is an issue as the car is being tested to extremes! See the video to believe it!

More updates soon.

TATA Punto

I was using Sujith's Punto for the past few months as he is still not perfect in driving and he can't afford the diesel now. His Dad doesn't allow him to travel by car too. How sad.

Thanks to FIAT India, they delivered me a Palio MJD. So I will be giving back the Punto to Sujith. I have taken care of all the service schedules and maintained in factory spec condition.

There are around 6 FIATs at home now. So I will be returning Sujith's drive back to him tomorrow.

Miss you PUNTO.

Enjoy the pics.
