A White Diamond - My Ford Figo TDCi ZXi I got my Diamond White Ford Figo TDCi ZXi on 30th April 2010.
As I have told earlier, one fine Sunday morning after taking prior appointment to take a Figo on test drive I went to the dealership, but after waiting for almost one and half hour they couldnt arrage for a demo car. From that experiance I have decided that I would never buy this car in any case.
Next day SP from the dealership called me and promised me to have a test drive the same and boy!! I was just impressed by the car and the result is I am having it with me.
I booked my car on 29th March 2010 with promise of delivery up to 15th of April, after calling SP everyday there was no sign of getting my car on time. After having some hot argument
with SP on 29th of April, no confirmation of delivery. He called me on 30th April morning that my car is ready, pls take the delivery at 5PM, I was totally shocked.
I reached the showroom around 5:30PM, everything was ready including my car. Within half an hour after checking some points I gave a green sign to take the car with me.
They introduced the service manager with me and explained all the things about Figo. It was a very nice experience from dealer on that day.
At the time delivery oddo was showing 28km and DTE was about 55km. There were no matings and mud flaps with car as they were out of stocks but promised to have within four days. Got the MRF tires with car.
Cars I have considered:
* Swift : Very common sighted, Five years old, waiting period is too long, premium taken by the dealer, not VFM compare to Figo.
* Punto:Excellent ride and handling, lack of quality plastic interior, driving position, noisy engine, not that punchy compare to Swift.
* Ritz: Didn't like the shape from back.
* Polo: A great deal except the 3pot engine.
About Figo:
* Superb VFM car
* City driving is fun with no turbo lag
* Visibility is good with nice build quality
* Music system is better than any after market fitment
* Good driving position with nice fabric seats
* Steering feels quite lite with less feedback
* Leg space at front and rear is more than adequate
* Rear seat is comfortable, nice under thigh support
* Ride is amazingly settled on un-even roads, no thud sound on potholes (feels better than my ANHC)
* There is no engine noise inside the cabin when the audio is on volume 6 and blower is on third position
* Good space in boot
* Remote key is very light weight
* Electronic mirrors adjustment is a good sign for this segment
* Frequent gear change is required in city driving, second gear feels gerky at some times and sometimes it feels a bullock cart in same gear
* Rear seat lacks the head rest and it reaches up to the neck line only
* No power windows at rear
* No central console provided around the hand brake, looks very cheap
* AC has no chilling effect(may be felt that because of the un-bearable heat in Ahmedabad), blower is too noisy after two position
* Ride is somewhat bouncy on bumps
* Footwell is cramped for size 10 shoes
* No dead pedal
* Clutch is annoyingly long traveled
* Driver's seat height adjustment is a joke to us
* Rear visibility is poor with those slopping roof lines
* Front seat is not comfortable as compare to Swift
I feel the car is so drivable in the city as well as on highway and feel very relaxed after driving my Indica Turbo. I am so happy with the car and feels proud by not buying any other cars.
(All these observations and comparisons are my personal view only and sorry for bad quality photos as they are taken by mobile as my parents are on Europe tour and camera is with them)
