Have to say the wheels look amazing.
@the VTEC guy

I will as suggested put up a list of work done on the car, with the numbers. It is being done at an MB workshop.

Glad you like the wheels !!

Attaching a picture of the car when the work started on it !!

Cheers

Some pics of the car BEFORE the work started.

Hi All

Finally found some pics of the car when I bought it, this is how it looked. Should be useful in the BEFORE & AFTER comparison !!

Apologies for taking so long to find these..were on a portable drive. Hence forgotten.

The seller PM'ed me about this car. Was offered for 5.5, whereas i already have my eyes set on a black one. Seems like a good buy (not for 5.5 though).
Congratulations on your purchase, looking forward to your restoration advice!

Small world ! So a Black one - eh ? Is it a W123 240D ? If it is & one with a Delhi number I know which one. That would be a good buy provided you are willing to go down to sheet metal to take care of the rust.

Anyways !

Cheers

Seems Akshay has blurred/dimmed the background and made car as the main object in pic by making it sharper

Thanks!. One question on the rims. I have been looking for a W124 for some time now. Few of the ones that I have seen have similar looking wheel caps and not actually alloys. Did the Indian ones come with wheel caps and no alloys? or were the alloys optional. In case I buy a car with steel rims and wheel caps how difficult and costly will it be to procure the the original alloy wheels that were offered at that period.

Yes the VTEC guy most W124's that you may be looking at would be the ones manufactured in India. They did not have the alloys that my car has, that is coz mine is an import.

There were however some Indian versions that I saw, that had alloys but of a totally different design.

As for getting alloys aftermarket. That would not be a problem at all. You can get alloys similar to the ones on the newer models or even AMG look alikes. The original alloys would however cost you a packet, not worth it if you ask me. Replicas would be just fine.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Congrats to get a E250 as, I was seeing your pictures. I want to suggest you to get a overall check of your engine. As, I also have a E220 (P). Few days just got changed my Mercedes main crank shaft seal. One of your picture showing same symptoms as was mine. These beauties need to be get checked in routine or else they will cause a great blunder in the end making a big hole in your pocket.

hey ricky , congrats. Shes beautiful. I know you were finding one since a long time. I remember when you came to see my w124 almost 3 years back. I didnt sell it finally. It works the same way, no problems what so ever. By the way, just added a new member to my car family ;-), a 2001 CLK 230 KOMPRESSOR.

Cheers.
