Re: Yet Another Pre-Owned Honda Civic!

Thank you sharing such a honest review.

As observed by other members, the first year turned out to be expensive.

How is the USB FM player doing ? Time for that civic customized touch screen unit ?

Door Beadings have been replaced ?

Any change in plans, given the recent fuel price hike ?

May we request Two Year Ownership Report or should we wait till the 26th of JUNE ?

Dont mind the barrage of questions.

Two reasons why there is no after-market touchscreen unit yet -

1) I now work from home - which means I don't drive alone very often. That is whenever I go out, my family will be with me on the drive. I won't be able to enjoy a Rs. 50K or Rs. 80K music setup because the volume knob is always set low

2) I don't miss the stereo mounted audio controls on the Civic because stock music player controls (volume knob especially!) are big and chunky! I don't want to lose that!

Unavailable at two dealers I went to. They promised to order the beadings for me and call me when it arrives, but I haven't heard from them yet. Downside to this is that the car has significantly higher wind noise at at expressway speeds when compared to my brother's new Honda City.

I bought a few shares of BPCL for a short term punt!

The second year of ownership was rather uneventful. My only maintenance expenses were Rs. 6K for the 50,000 km service. I'm finally experiencing the famed Honda peace-of-mind service that everybody talks about!

I'm unable to recall the name of the app. But you can go to Appstore and type "Fuel economy" or "Fuel mileage" or something else on those lines.

Thanks Smartcat so you calculated it manually or used some On board Diagnostics device to capture those inputs?

Manually. When the orange light on the dashboard turns on, RESET the odo. Fill up the fuel tank to the brim, record the number of litres & amount paid in the app, then run the car till the orange light glows again.
