No,the i20 MFD has just outside temperature display,2 trip meters and the time since the engine is kept on

MFID yes but no distance to empty, or fuel consumption. The EU version has tho'. This hot hatch was purchased for its torque! FE is good enough, need to check.

Congrats on the car Johnn. Have driven the i20 crdi extensively on the highway. A real hoot to drive.

Johnn - Guys, no racing, no drinking, no challenges, no NFS on road (do have a 60GB PS3- with most NFS games). Its just that these 20 lakh to 60 lakh cars are too much expensive toys to drive normally, and skill levels are highly variable - 50 lakhs not equal to greatest driver.

So suggest a PS3 DAY for NFS fans here(hope timings are highly flexible), for all those speedsters - lets race man! Safety first.

BTW, many F1 drivers drive solid hatches just for convenience.(they also practice on simulators - hence the PS3).
PS - Schumi was winning as he was racing to win where others were learning the track, as he did have huge test drive budgets. When the budgets got cut, The King had to gracefully ease out. Now its simulators to help practice the tracks intricacies.

Johnn- Like to notch up a '(s)kill like the Aces did in WW2, but its traffic related and extremely subjective.
Its the power to weight ratio at 1 ton approx, and at a fraction of the price, that does the trick. Passengers don't feel the speed, 110 is like 40. Wish I could guys, wish I could, as an employee its 10 hrs x 6 days workweek, Sundays is church/sleep day. Thanks for the invite, hope to take you up sometime on it.
BUT may be some one can arrange a track day - 5% chance of swinging it, but what the hell, some one may be able to organise it regularly. expensive tho unless all are members of the MMSC. Can help with some driving skills learnt at work for past 15 years.

It is definitely a great car with several unparalleled features and strengths. I find that the steep price and the poor rear leg room the only deterrents (in my view). Big boot is an attraction though. The seats (typically Hyundai) could have been more re-assuring as in the case of swift.

Johnn - Rightly said!, am trying to get the seats covers to have deeper recess to 'slot' the body in.

I have not driven the i20 CRDi and decided against it for the steep difference in price Vs its petrol sibling. After reading all CRDi reviews in our forum, I'm curious to find out how it really is - will try to get a test drive on this soon. 2009 Hyundai i20 Asta


Johnn - Well, may I recomend a test drive only on a highway for about 25 free km like we have the NH45 in TN. The city drive is all about quiet and rich plushness, this side of Ten lakhs.

Dear johnn, the i20 is a pretty good car. The only thing i don't like is the ordinary ride comfort. Ride comfort should be good as we all know about indian road conditions.

Johnn - Ride is not everything, its the complete package that counts. Benzes and Beemers are good examples. (May I add i20?)

Which is i20 takes 60 odd meters to stop from 100 to 0 while
punto and figo stops in 40 odd; now that's a massive difference

The braking distance as per overdrive is 43.02 meters and not 60 meters as you have claimed. It is on par with Figo which is around 45 meters. for punto i was not able to find distance in meters but i did manage to find in seconds which is 3.42 seconds.

But what the car loses in roll-on figures, it makes up for in its braking. Even though the i20 CRDi tips the scales at well over 1200kg (the Kappa weighs just 1066kg), it doesn't lose any of its braking potential. With disc brakes all around, along with ABS and EBD, step on the brake pedal, and the i20 will come to a halt from 100km/h in just 2.99seconds, covering a distance of 41.65 metres in the process.



so unjustified fears, of course at 3 digit speeds you need to be a careful steady and planned driver, no sudden locks.
