Great find..!! can you post a pic of those ?

Meanwhile, i will also ask BIL to check for it, as we have a GP MJD EP at our Hometown.

They will work only when the AC is directed towards the feet or when the climate control puts it on.

One bhp/ps seems to unaccounted for ! Only thing I can think of as an explanation, is that they wanted to put a 90bhp rounded moniker rather than a 91 or 92bhp ?

After all the heavy discussions on Punto vs i10 CRDi, I am looking into the small picture ;-)
Well, these conversions are for the British version of HP calculations. However, manufacturers these days use the Metric calculation where 1hp=1ps. Hence HP & PS stand equal.

Fiat use 90 HP as a brand, cos the original engine was 90 hp & with BS1V modifications, the power has gone up to 93.

Voila, spot on guys, it works and works pretty well ! Pic for the guys who asked for it, the rear AC vent is the one at the bottom.

EDIT: I think we should take this discussion to the regular FIAT PUNTO Test Drive and Review thread.

Not really. All European manufacturers use ps, but when quoting bhp/hp values, the British fps bhp value is used. So, that is why 90 != 93 in the first place...

However, since you wanted to be precise, let us be real precise :-) The precise conversion is: 1 PS = 0.9832 hp. Given this, we get:
Well 1 PS=0.986320071 bhp, so I guess I was already 'real' precise ;-) Use

LOL this is the sidindca effect LOL . As for it looking blacker - all I can think of is the lighting or the camera angle.

Cheers

That interior definitely looks much better. Is the lower part of the dash grey or is it blu-greyish? Also the dials are black. May be Fiat was stupid enough to send out pre-production cars as demo cars??

Especially notice the plastics near keyhole. Yes! they are so much improved. So, Final production ones seem to have got the changes.

Thanks SidIndica for sharing these pics. I think that these are the final production versions that are hitting the showrooms. If this is indeed the case, the 90HP will now have the best of both worlds (decent plastics and good engine). The red stitching on the upholstery is quite subtle and I like it being understated.

Thats exactly how my 2010 Punto looked when it was delivered to me, much blacker than what it looks right now 3 months down the line. Its the polish (oil) thats been applied to the dash. Look closely where the dash ends on the driver side, you would notice the colour difference as there is some area (is not as dark) where it seems the polish has not been applied. I was at one of the dealers the other day to get a FIAT genuine antenna for my Punto, I just happened to notice the 90 HP and the interiors weren't any different. Frankly the plastics and the fit/finish are that of the 2010 Punto, I am pleasantly amused that folks find it good/better ! Frankly, I dont see any inconsistency here, the plastics are consistently ordinary and would remain the same for the entire batch, till someone at FIAT makes an effort to change something.

Hmmm...thats an impressive looking pic with good fit & finish. So much for all the interior bashing, think we need to reserve our comments until a few final production cars are checked out.

At the same time, having checked out a couple of 90 bho VGT's (which to me felt decent) vs Sid's earlier pics, need to say that Fiat have been inconsistently good n bad if not consistently bad.

Still awaiting the Test Drive frm GTO...

I know there's no T-Jet Punto. Just hoping for one. And the Fiat ad does not mention 'Punto Sports' anywhere. Just Punto 90 HP.
