Thanks for the review Sid.

Another big plus in the after-sales area will be the cost of spares when compared with VW / Skoda. I have read innumerable T_BHP stories of humongous replacement costs of a/c compressors, turbo etc of the VW family. Not to mention lower reliability.

Cheers,

Excellent review sidindica.

Why? Toyota not comfortable with Altis sporting D-4D 1.4 badging? Doesn't that say something about the mindset?

Just for comparison, Innova diesel sports the engine capacity badging.

Thats a good review Sidindica.

Few points that came into my mind.
1. To me the front and the headlamps looks a bit bland, I guess that was supposed to look that way.
2. I am liking many people calling it as Aam janta, good to know that the aam janta can afford a 11 L car. well I cant
3. I thought of this in the i20 itself. When all complain of confusing wiper to indicator in the cars like Ford ones. How come no one complains of a 6th gear being in the place a reverse gear is for other cars? I still keep wondering.

Excellent review, Sid. Toyota has certainly big plans with this car. The Indian market will certainly lap it up in great numbers, IMO.

That was another Quality Write Up Sid.Great !!

This car would do very well in the South especially where the craze for diesels is high.

A diesel under 1.5 liters means insurance costs would be low.

And 88PS is decent power for a diesel this size.

They should definitely provide multiple options for diesel engines. Also selling with smaller engine + additional one lakh Rs over petrol altis might not work for longer time.

By aam junta, they mean typical Indian buyer (of course with buying ability) who do not have special interest in automobiles.

The 6 speed closed ratio gearbox is the key, which gives the perfect trade-off between performance and efficiency.
