Congrats on the black beauty. Just wondering what "EPC" in the instrument cluster stands for. Electronic Power Control? German for the conventional terminology EPS? |
Electronic Pedal Control.
Congratulations,
Enjoy the POLO.
Drive safe and have fun.
Few more pics here :)
Yesterday for the first time my car's rear sit was occupied and to my surprise my friends didn't complain anything about crampy rear seat. I asked them repeatedly hows is the comfort and they said we were comfortable.
There are few things which I found amusing in Polo. Steering comes with steering lock and with hand brakes on there comes warning sound and warning icon on the console when engine starts. If the headlights are on and car is switched off then also warning sounds.
The feel of steering is awesome even at high speed its so accurate and very soft to manoeuver. Clocked speed at 100kph the car was stable and raring to go but not extended beyond that as I feel its only early days of the car may be I should conserve it for bit later.
Night Visibility is a bit of concern as headlights are bit dimmer even at highest level. High Clutch Pedal is pain.
Rests all is good.
Cheers.
Congrats Subaro, I believe I missed this thread.. Nice writeup. The car looks good in black. :thumbs up
good that you got the couplers from aftermarket. I ve been a bit tied up these days so couldnt manage to drop in to the accessories guy to ask for antenna coupler. I ll try to get it this weekend, if the guy doesnt have it I may have to ask you for the addresss of the place you got ur music system from.
the pioneer 4290 looks good, the red lights too match with the interior lighting. Only one thing I dont like is the single line display. The 5, 6, 7 series of pioneer do have double line display which is much better. The speaker set up too looks good. Do you plan to get amp and base in some time?
Rear seat legroom and comfort is definitely not to complaint about if the passengers arent too long 5'8 - 5'10+.
the floor mats, you may want to get the fabric ones as well, I got them for some 700 rs if I remember right. they are specifically for polo, you may see them in my initial ownership thread.
The head lights certainly are to be upgraded if highway driving is regular.
the car goes up till 140 with much of an ease but there after takes time to go up. I recently did 157 on 4th.:D. Though, I must say that the car has set new benchmark in terms of ride, handling and stability as far as hatches in India are concerned.
rest, u take care and drive safe. wish you miles of happiness
Gaurav
@Gaurav
Yeah Fabric mats too were available for Rs. 750, will go for it otherwise carpet may soil. Why I opted for 4290 instead of 5290 is that 5290 comes with blue light while interior lights are red, so 5290 won't be matching up well with interior lights. Alphine IDAX 300 was on my choice but it doesn't comes with CD drive so thought against of it. So the money I saved on installing 4290 helped me upgrading speakers to Rockford and Hertz otherwise I was opting for JBL or Sony.
Haven't thought of upgrading music system to that level, may be I would keep these for the time being. :)
Congrats on the Polo. Looks great in black. Add the fog lamps as an accessory it sort of enhances the front looks with the fog lamps.
Enjoy many more miles with the Polo.
Congratulations Subaro123!
You will not have any problem with the back seat (Leg room & Head room), practically. But theoretically - Yes!! :D
Nice to see another Polo in Black on the forum. :)
Congrats. Do keep us posted with a 5000 Km ownership update. Happy motoring!
Interiors during dark:)
Pioneer DEH4290 matches with interiors red light.
Thanks chethan
I won't say there would be a problem, its subjective depends upon case to case.:D

Thanks acidkill & nkrishnap
Hey Subaro123, I think you got it spot on as far as the HU is concerned, it really matches with the inside lights at night. Great choice!
Here's first mileage update on my POLO.
Start O.D. Reading: 181.3
End O.D. Reading: 605.7
Total Fueled in 41.83 liters.
Mileage: 10.27 kmpl.
Its been 100% Delhi driving with 70% AC usage. I commute daily to office which is 4.5 km far. The mileage figures are not animatic but as a whole I am totally satisfied with car and driving condition.
Its been rough outing for my POLO, someone put up scratch on the front to front door :deadhorse. Its not virgin any more. Can someone recommend what can be done? I will post some pics later.
