I Brought home a Jazzy Honda
(

It also comes with a USB port now. :)
Update: I checked the DTE indicator number and full tank to full tank number. Both tally. Wonder what the hoopla is all about. Yes, I am loving the car more. It's a 17.8 in the city with a/c.

Excellent, in this day and age all HU should be equipped with AUX-IN and USB. Glad Honda has seen the light...
Phenomenal efficiency and it will only get better once you're run it in.

Hey devarshi,
I was reading your comments..some of the little negative things you mentioned never bothered me! Now that I have read your comments, I was consciously trying to see if I face any of those problems.
One thing which I found surprising is your knuckles seldom hitting the AC knob.
Today, I was deliberately checking the clearance between by fist and the AC knob. Even in the closest position (5th gear), there is about a 4" distance between my knuckles and the AC knob. May be you have a different way of holding/shifting the gear knob.
I am amazed to see your FE man! Last few days, I am trying to drive with a light foot to see if I can increase the FE..but till now, the max I am getting in city traffic is 14 kmpl with AC. (worst being 12.6 kmpl)
AS per my last calculation, the difference between the onborad FE calculator and the actual FE was around 0.75 kmpl! Will check again this time.
I have negotiated with the dealer for the new smoky gunmetal alloys from the Jazz X and hopefully will get those fitted by this weekend.
May be you can give it a try too, those alloys look fabulous!
Congratulation Devarshi. I forgot to congratulate you when I called you ! Thanks for the info and your help buddy.
I met the Head Sales at Emerald Honda and showed him the deal that you got from them. He offered me the same deal if I opt for Blue colour. As per him they are getting additional discounts from company on some colours. Or may be he already knew my colour choices. Any way, at present I am having my options open and I will finalize the deal in couple of days.
Further are they selling USB connector as accessory? As per my info it is not available.

Yes, and the stereo is also bluetooth compatible. Wonder why Honda skimped on that too.

Thanks Rutvij, Did you meet Mr. Rajnish Arora at Emerald Honda? He knows me pretty well. Also if you go to Landmark Honda the Sales manager there is Mr kapil Asnani who is a good friend of mine. Let me know if you need any help.
You are right, the usb connector is not available as yet. It is mostly a micro to usb out wire I suppose but I can be wrong.

While shifting my fingers touch the underbelly of the know to be exact. It is really tough to keep a light foot since this is a high revving engine but using the meter helps a lot.
Did you say you finalized the gunmetal deal for 4K or is it 10K+4K? Also do you think its possible to go for free fog lights? I dont need them but still.

Yes, I am not able to keep the revs low..in spite of my best efforts, I am hitting 3K+ . But yes, the instantaneous FE meter helps in discouraging using a heavy foot
I have finalized the gumetal alloys..they look very good indeed..I will be posting pics in my ownership thread by tomorrow. I think you should negotiate for those even at 14K. I don't think you will get good quality 15" alloys at that price in the market.
Since I had already paid the entire amount which included the select kit and some other goodies, I am not paying anything extra.
I will be getting the illuminated scuff plates fitted as well. Did you get those as part of your deal?
I wanted the fog lamps but those are not available with the dealer. So, thinking about after-market stuff. I talked to an accessory shop and it seems the same fog lamps ( made in taiwan) are available outside (approx price 5.3K). I had a good look at the fog lamps of jazz X and if I am sure that those exact fog lamps are available outside and the fitment does not involve cutting/messing around with wires, I will go for that. It is difficult to get the fog lights free as Honda charges 15K for those.
If you get hold on the USB connector, do let us know. Otherwise, I can live with connecting Ipod or other portable music device through the Aux-in.
Congrats Devarshi, your car looks great! Drive safe!
On another note, 7.25 lacs on-road and no climate control? Not cool at all.
Hi Devarshi. Congrats on the Jazz.
Yes I also agree with you that Logan has a great chassis. Stability at 140 is amazing.
But I wonder why Swift was out of your long list. It has the best engine in its class - hands down!! And great in handling as well. But yeah, many complaints on rattles and small niggles. Were those a deal breaker for you?
Thanks.

@devarshi84 - Congratulations on the Jazz, the color looks great and the grey wheels look neat too !. I had almost made my mind up to get the Jazz (Read : discounts etc). But then happened to TD the i20 CRDi and simply fell for the rush of power post 1800revs. Agreed the steering may not be the best, but they have kinda rectified the issue in the newer BS IV models. Plus the fact that you get the economy of a Diesel in the i20 Vs the petrol powered jazz. But all in all the Jazz is no doubt a great car.
Cheers !

Ditto, But a/c effectiveness pays off a bit.

The Sales manager said I need to wait a month but the alloys are definitely coming.
Mine dont have illuminated scuff plates and they are aftermarket. But yes, they were part of the deal.
I got a nice Boomer in the Lancer So I can live without the usb port but no harm in getting it done. Spoiler is certainly not on the cards and neither are the fog lamps. One doesnt need fog lamps in Ahmedabad and just having an electrical accessory will mean expense at some point of time.

Thanks Vibhanshu. Yes Logan is a wonder and needs to sell well even considering its drawbacks. The suspension is just perfect for India.
I did not consider swift because its rear seat feels like prison to me. Also I have come to not appreciate Maruti's build quality lately including the plastics and the rattle. Yes, the rattle was the dealbreaker.
I dont see Jazz selling in more numbers. Maybe 1000 a month at best.
I somehow hate people driving around me even more. Did I just discover a new disorder? 'new car owner hates the world' disorder?
I have noticed that the boot lip is also lower than the wagonR. While this helps in loading heavy things, the boot door goes right into my head.
I would like to know a remedy to make the stereo sound better. Any options?
Update: Driving in the city has taught me the fact that this car lacks torque in 3rd gear and accelerating from lower revs doesnt evoke a similar reaction as the lancer. One needs to be calculative at times. Yes, the lack of torque in 3rd is that pronounced.
Its not so much the gear, but the rpm - in the initial stages, keep the rpm above 2200 and it should be ok. This means if you want torque, and are going slower than 40-45kmph, you should downshift to 2nd gear. As you put in more mileage, the engine would behave better at lower rpm's. So that figure of 2200 will gradually become 1800.

Devarshi,
Very good car in an eye catching colour. True that Honda has omitted some much sought after features like ACC, driver's map light, auto door locking, lightened power window switches et al. But, the ease of driving, ultra smooth i-vtec and its frugal nature might just cancel out the lack of features. Also please note that the engine will open up after 6-7k kms and you will get the torques you wanted at lower gears. The same thing happened with me when my car was new; 2nd gear seemed to be non-existant. Now that's not the case and things are lot better. Being the same engine family, I would expect similar behaviour in your car as well. So, keep driving and the more you drive, I am sure your smile will get broader.
