Congratulations Driver2000! Wish you many happy miles with your POLO.
Post some interior pics with the seat covers fitted. Your mileage figures are again excellent and like Chethan said even if the tank full brings it down by 10% still in city conditions its great.

That is a great idea!

Just let me know the date, time & venue - We can also have a small meet over a cup of coffee. Sorry for the OT!

I totally agree. Would be great if we can plan something either this weekend or next. Any suggestions of a good venue - somewhere where we can line up our Polos in a line and click some good pics!

Poloman, since its your idea - will let you suggest the venue, and date and time! Might be worth starting another thread as well on this to get attention of other Polo owners in Bangalore.

Thanks Chethan. I am planning to get some pics soon - you have really set the bar in terms of the useful reviews. Also saw some great B/W pic from Peugot in his ownership thread, so will have some fun with my photo shop over the weekend too.

I am not familiar with the South Metro shop - would you mind sharing the address (over a PM as it might be construed as commercial)? Thanks!

AFAIK Such brand specific meets/threads are not allowed in TBHP. We can meet personally.

The Fuel Efficiecy game is on!

Alright, here is my starting post on the FE journey that I have just begun with my Petrol 1.2 Polo.

As I said earlier, the best Fuel Efficiency in any gear is got when the rpm is just around 2000. I am attaching a few pictures that I took to illustrate this. These pics were taken while I was driving, so please excuse the poor quality. Hopefully, they still convey the message. My first pic shows a FE of 14 kmpl, which rises steadily to 16.2 kpl (third pic), in a 6 km stretch (134.7 km on the odo as compared to 128.7 km). For these six kms, my rpm needle was fairly steady around 2K mark, with my speedometer averaging 80 kph.

I cant wait to get the car out on the highways now - to let it really breathe! I am pretty sure I can hit an average of 18-19 on an open road... got to convince the family for a Mysore trip soon.

During the rains, I think the flaps do a service by containing the spray at the rear - to other cars and bikes on the road. However, once the rains are over - have made a note to get them taken out!
Absolutely , I agreee . Good to know that the 4 wheelers do take care of us .

Also , why dont you remove those plastic covers ( over the instru cluster ) ? well dont get bugged of all these advices or recommendations or opinions .

The car is exactly 7 days old today; and I havent even opened all the doors yet! About to remove all the plastics from the seats, and any over the instrument cluster etc; all this weekend. New pics coming up as well, stand by!

The FE saga continues

So today, I decided on leaving office a little early - where there would be less traffic on the load, and the possibility of extracting more mileage from the drive from office to home. Started from office at 4 pm, reached home around 445, covering 22 kms. And here are the FE figures - I was delighted that I could touch 18 kpl this time! )

I am certainly loving this.. lets see how much more I can push up the mileage now.

Disclaimer: the current figures are from the MID, and without AC, will run similar tests with AC later on. Empty tank figures awaited.

Congrats Driver2000 on the purchase!

IMO, There are umpteen reasons why Bangaloreans didn't like travelling in autos. But at the same time I must admit that its one of those places where auto drivers come for meter fare atleast for 50-60 % of the rides.

The seat cover saga

The Polo highline comes with Livon upholstery. Unfortunately, the light beige colour is very pretty, but tough to maintain - specially with kids. My son got excited on the day the Polo came home, and promptly put his sandals on the front seat - leaving quite an impression! (Note the amazing floor mat - since there is no stock at the dealership! )

The Polo showroom has rather costly options (upwards of 6K), for seat covers that are tied around the seats. So took the car to my favourites accessories guy for a fitment. This was his first Polo, so he said he would use it as a learning experience Well, still stuck with him - the fitting took nearly 3 hours because of modifications on the fly, but here's the results.

Showing before and after pics. Hopefully, going on!
