Wow! That's one hell of a scoop.
But, if I think about it, it's logical that the first review is posted at Team-BHP, since it is here that we saw the first pictures of Nano :-).

Looks like Nano is all set to rule the roads!

Good to know the positive report about the NANO. I also would like to get the TD when I get the time.

to Tata Motors and Ratan Tata for making the dream of car ownership so accessible to so many Indians. This is just like what Air Deccan did to the aviation sector. Only TM doesnot mess it up like Dhakkan did in terms of Customer Service.

The fact that it is better than the Maruti800 is all it takes to be a winner.
While it is too early to say it will only be after a lot of Nanos hit the road that safety and other issues can be commented on.
Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Great first hand review. The LX has features which are absent even in cars like the Alto today. The review looks promising too. This car is going to turn heads even more than exotics on our roads now. It is the perfect City car. Smaller than the 800 but more spacious. And its a looker.

Ratan Tata you are the man of the moment. India is proud of you. I would love to have one in my garage just for the patriotism.

I wish I could attend this launch. It is more special than any other car launch so far.

Great review.
but i think comparing a 2009 car to a one made around 1984 (although it has a fair bit of changes since its launch here in 84) even though it is its cheapest competitor is not quit fair in my opinion.
To think maruthi also plays around with its badging to make profits in india like skoda.
I was just checking out the alto in wiki.It shows the current A-star as the alto.

but any ways i feel proud that i can buy a car with my own pocket money (obviously money saved over a period of time ^ ^)

Just Like in Germany Volkswagen was termed as 'People's Car'....Tata has done it in India. Mr. Ratan Tata : You are a real Hero.

This is brilliant! Mr. Tata, take a bow.

I have one question for Tata Motors though: with the expected demand for this 4-wheeled wonder, how have Tata equipped their Service network? I assume that there will be a huge increase in the number of cars flowing in and out of the many Tata service stations in the country. Chance for a separate, Nano-specific service network maybe?

Kudos to TATA. a big thumbs down to the WB government for the singur fracas and their inability to control things, hence delaying the production of the Nanos. mom just said we should buy one just for the heck of it. if this is the way all the people are going to think, then we should expect a traffic jam at every nukkad :-P

a promise is a promise ?

well tata QC is spotty at best. God knows to what levels they might have compromised on the QC to get it built to this cost. The vista got rave reviews at first, and the problems have started showing up.

I guess first time car owners wouldnt mind, and numerous tata vehicle issues have helped other manufacturers also lower their standards , and make them look acceptable.

Manufacturing and selling to a price is good, but i think lowering the bar is not something to be proud of. God forbid what happens when nanos with issues start flooding tata service centers

I'm not trying to bash tata , and I'd love to be proved wrong.
