i20 1.4 Automatic delivered

Hi,
I have bought an i20 1.4 Automatic petrol(White) a couple of days back.I did the Aircon Diagnostic check & got the error code 11 which I believe is In-car temparature sensor open.I do feel the cooling is erratic & insufficient for this time of the year temperatures in delhi. How do I go about explaining this to the service advisors at Hyundai?Do they also have a diagnostic for the Aircon & any ideas as to how this error code affects the cooling?Otherwise am quite happy with the car,changed tyres to Michelin XM1+ retaining the stock size,have added a Parrot Bluetooth CK 3100 Handsfree system & upgraded the headlamps to Philips Xtreme Power H4 60/55W.Pictures to follow soon.

Got these off from carwale forums
Here are the other codes which will display if any of the component related to F.A.T.C malfunctions.

00 = Normal
11 = In-car temparature sensor open
12 = In-car temparature sensor short
13 = Ambient temparature sensor open
14 = Ambient temparature sensor short
17 = Evaporator temparature sensor open
18 = Evaporator temparature sensor short
19 = Temparature control actuator feed back open
20 = Temparature control actuatore failure
21 = Mode Control actuator open
21 = Mode control actuator short
22 = Mode control actuator failure
25 = Intake potentiometer open
25 = Intake potentiometer short
26 = Intake potentiometer failure

A lot of you want to know how the Auto drives,well here are my two bits,
You need to be gentle on the accelerator & it doesn't dissapoint.Being a new car i am running it in so i am rather gentle but if you attempt a kickdown it does take a moment.The engine is refined & the autobox is also smooth.Doing 100 KMPH will correspond to about 2500 RPM & noise levels are good,the Michelins are certainly helping.The horn is a weak point but I'm not too fond of noise pollution in any case,will keep the oem.The sound system is very decent for a stock system & I plan to leave it untouched.
I can blast off in my BMW 530d Highline when I feel the need.

I would definitely reccomend this car to anyone who needs to commute in rush hour traffic as the autobox is a no brainer,takes off the stress from driving.For me,I mostly drive for fun & for that the BMW plays its role & the i20 is for my wife & for daily runs to the market.

The Climate control is quite ok.I have been informed that Hyundai has a service bulletin to take care of cooling issues for earlier variants & after my visit to the workshop it is doing its job,best to use it manually as auto sometimes takes it own sweet time to cool up the cabin.I am seriously considering the VKOOL premium sunfilm for the front windscreen only,looking for reviews & opinions.

The dreaded steering rattle has not surfaced as yet,keeping my fingers crossed.

The OTR worked close to 8 Lakhs for those of you who wanted to know,freebies were rubber floor & boot mats which are good & mudflaps which I did'nt want.

Happy Motoring.

Hey sandeep, congrats on the new purchase.

BTW, the question you have posted here belongs to technical section. Do start a separate thread there and post your purchase experience and initial driving impression here.

Hi,
To get into the aircon diagnostic menu,
FATC (fully automatic Temperature Control)
If you have FATC (fully automatic Temperature Control) equipped in your i20 , you can run a self-diagnostic to make sure the components related to it working properly.
To get into the self diagnosis mode

]1. Put the key into the ignition hole
2. Turn the key into ON position so the dashboard lights illuminates (No starting of engine)
3. Press and hold the OFF button, then press the MODE button more than 4 times within 2seconds
4. The you can see the Display unit of a/c illuminates like in the video and display codes starts blinking.
5. Now the diagnosis starts
6. press the A/C button to proceed to next step
7. after completion it will come into the original condition
8. Incase if you wants to quit anytime press OFF button

Got these from the carwale forum.
Will show my car today at the dealership & will post my experience.

Hyundai i20 2009 - 2010 Privacy Shades

  • Available for 2009 - 2010 models
  • Fits All Models
  • Accessory Prices & Options

    3 Door - £86.91 £ 73.87
  • 5 Door - £31.00 £ 26.35
I have ordered these from UK & was interested in fitting a front windscreen film, VKOOL Premium.Any drawbacks to the front windscreen film?Is it worth it?I have never had any experience with the same before.My only concern is that night driving visibility should not reduce.
Looking for suggestions,
Cheers.

" It contains a thermistor which measures the temperature of the inside. The signal,decided by the resistance value which changes in accordance with perceived inside temperature, is delivered to heater control unit. According to this signal, the control unit regulates incar temperature to intended value. "

So basically it cannot measure the temperature inside the cabin, the cooling is ineffective.

Hi Sandeep,

nice pics. Can you please share the OTR details and more on your delivery experience. Did you get the i20 Auto test drive?

Also what i am most interested to know is how have you managed to connect the ipod to your music system? my cousin owns i20 Asta and has been trying to do but he can only connect using AUX and that doesn't show song details on the display.

Thanks.
