Hi, what i hear from the feedback from fellow Bhpians is that Mobil Delvac MX is awesome, Synthetic isnt a great choice for diesel engines.

To add on synthetic's are very expensive.

Re: After a long wait - The Ritz VDi

Update:
Odo - 18500 kms. No issues to report, smooth sailing. I am expecting a drop in FE as the car is going to have its air filter replaced at 20,000 kms.

Got a quote from MASS for insurance renewal. Amount is 9900/- via National Insurance.

List of things to do for 20,000 km service. Please help if i have missed out anything.

Engine Oil Change / Flush
Oil Filter Replacement
Gear Oil Change
Air Filter Replacement
Wheel Balancing / Rotation

What are the other works that have to be done? Is coolant Change / Flush required?
What would be the approximate cost of the third service?

Re: After a long wait - The Ritz VDi

when i changed air filter for my alto i didnt find any FE dip.

infact the performance improved slightly.

I think you must get the brake pads checked both front and rear.
Get your battery removed for 8 to 9 hours, get it fully charged if never done till date, this will help for your battery to live a couple of years more.

Door locks needs to be greased very well, any kinds of rattles or vibrations need to be sorted now before it becomes too late.

Cheers

Re: After a long wait - The Ritz VDi

Govigov,
Ritz is a wonderful tallboy hatch back car which cannot be compared with any other of this segment. If you are doing the service with MASS you don't have to worry about the greasing etc. They do as one of the points in the package. Greasing,Oil change, break checking, coolant inspection are some of the must. Still then just cross check too. Mine is 26 months old with 68K running. So far no problem and the FE also fine. So you don't have to worry about the FE with filter change. The fall of FE might be of the roads or the areas of your drive.Still I am getting not less than 20 kms /L on long drive with ac. Keep on 80 kms speed you will also get that.

Re: After a long wait - The Ritz VDi

Update: 4th service
odo reading 21534, date : 15/11/2011

got the service done. car is quieter now. some problems that cropped up after the service. i was there at the service station and asked them specifically to lock the steering during wheel alignment. They said it was not required. and said something about it auto correcting. Now i have to hold the steering at an angle for the car to go straight. no force is required. but horrible when it is at an angle. creating problems when i park, because i am used to the steering being at the dead center.

cost of service 6544/-

Re: After a long wait - The Ritz VDi

you can just ask them to centre the steering again. I also face this whenever alignment is done on my cars.

govigov :
@Govigov, can not make out anything from the images you have posted. Pls post either scanned images / clearer pics. Or, the best is type out the relevant details / charge items. That information is more relevant than seeing the actual bill.
