I owned a Maruti 800 and was pretty happy with it. She was getting old as it was her 14 birthday . Always had it at the back of my mind that i would need a new vehicle very soon . But after this unfortunate incident my desire for a new vehicle just got a dose of Viagra . Okay enough of talking ,let the pics do the talking.


Now the billion dollar question ,which company which car. I am a fiat fan so the first preference was Tata Showroom. Nearest one was on the Mumbai-Pune highway Fortune Motors. On entering , my eyes got hold of a black stile Multijet being worked upon. My God look at those headlights ,yes ,yes this is the one . Told the executive i need one of those ,he smiled and said Sorry Sir the vehicle is no longer available for booking and the one was booked two months back. Requested him to inquire with his seniors if i could book one ,but the answer was a big NO. After that big NO , we took a price list for the punto diesel and petrol and left.


Reached home opened up the Fiat India website and called up the customer care number. A sweet voice greets me from the other end and i ask her the same question and she gives me the same reply. I am frustrated ,meanwhile i completely forgot i got other options to choose from. Something was taking control over me. Next day 11 October open up the fiat website again and take down the phone number of various dealers and start calling them one after another and the big NO follows. Finally called up the last dealer on my list Fortune Motors at nerul , no one picking up the phone . Damn it :Frustrati.
For the next few days was a bit busy but today Oct 29 it' s a holiday for me . Open up the fiat website again and took down the Nerul dealers number and to my surprise i see an email id also listed. May be i missed it last time . Immediately drop a mail and the person replies “ Sir the company has stopped taking bookings but we have one SDX E III , in case you are intrested we could take it forward” . I just can't figure out the words to express my joy. I requested for a test drive and he agreed.


At the showroom
Reached the showroom ,the executive offers me a coffee , fill up a form and we are ready for the test drive. Inspect the car from top to bottom in and out like a scanner for any kind of abnormalities. That's the advantage of being a Team Bhp Member you know what to look for in a new car. Drove the car for a good distance and the experience can be put in two words “Mind Blowing”. The sales executive was very supportive and answered some of my silly questions as well. Paid Fifty thousand and booked the car. The car is part of some dhamaka scheme and the on road price is Rs. 4,30,000.Its Sep 2010 model. Complementary accessories provided,

1. Perfume
2. Floor mats
3. Mud flaps (not available with them at the time of delivery).
4. 3M paint protection (50% sharing basis)

Delivery
Finally took the delivery of the car on 12 Nov . Speedo meter reads 95 Km. As of writing the car has added another 300Km . An initial drive experience will follow soon. Till then enjoy the pics.

Congrats on your car. INR 4.30 is a bargain. I think. Also can you please post interior pics along with your experience with her so far & mileage figures if you have.

I have a doubt though, with the car at the end of its life cycle, wont it be a problem to source parts in near future? or they are widely available?

@sammyboy ,the car got sandwitched between two trucks.Luckily no one was hurt .
@kartikk ,yes the bonet is open.You have a good pair of eyes.

I don't think it will be an issue since the vehicle would be regstered in Navi Mumbai.

Please remove the dealer stickers from the rear windscreen. It spoils the beauty of your car :D

Believe me, you have been damn lucky. There are so many people waiting for their respective Palios booked under Dhamaka offer. Most of us are waiting since over 4 months.

Hearty congratulations from the fiat enthusiasts at team bhp!! I love your car and 4.3 is a decent price! I managed to get my SDE MJD for 3.7L on road just this August :)

Congrats on your Palio. I too got mine in the Dhamaka offer recently :) but I had to pay OTR Price of 4.63 lacs in Bangalore. I ended up paying almost 14k more since the RTO insisted on paying the Road Tax at the original price and not the discounted one.

Palio is a beautiful Car and it is rock steady on the highways and loves munching miles. Wishing you many many happy miles with her.
